I read a wonderful post from one of my FaceBook friends. She is starting a "Elf on a Shelf" tradition with her kids. It's where you introduce a Elf to your kids on Thanksgiving Day and hide it in a different place in the house every day till Christmas for the kids to find. The purpose is to tell your kids that the Elf travels to the North Pole every night to tell Santa if they have been naughty or nice and then hides in a different part of the house, always watching.
Not sure if this is patented idea, but I think it would be a clever add on idea somehow. Elves, what a novel concept.
