For those who do not know, the founder of Phoenix Flower Shops, Elmer Schienbein AAF, passed away last week. His services are scheduled for this Friday.

He started the business as a bucket shop in 1960 and grew it into a chain of 10 stores before his semi-retirement in 1998. To see more info about Elmer and his accomplishments visit www.phoenixflowershops.com and click on his photo.

There is a guest book available for anyone who wants to share a memory about Elmer or simply express their condolences.

elmer

this is sad. i first met elmer in the early '80's. when he was building phoenix into a floral power house.
i last saw him at saf in september. he always had time to chat about the business and stayed on top of what was occuring in the industry.
elmer was a professional and will be missed.

Elmer was such a big part of all the florist conventions, meetings, parties, and trips within our florist community. This industry is so much better because of people like him.

The one face I could always count on at any florist event was Elmers. He will be missed.
