By far my best designed pieces are either for myself or people I know intimately...My Dad's funeral work and my grandmothers work were beautiful, Things I make for my friends from their husband's or boyfriends always come out far better than just regular generic stuff because I know what they like and I know them intimately...I have also noticed that my customers that love flowers and have an easy time telling me what their likes and dislikes are their arrangements just come out better..

I am making a casket cover for a friend of mine's mother and I think it is going to be killer...he gave me artistic license and fought with the funeral director who said the flowers were included that he wanted me to do the cover...It is a full casket cover(my first one ever)...I will post pictures when I am done...I am so emotionally into this one that I just know it will come out gorgeous...

I have always said this is a business that deals with emotions....weather is is sadness (beauty softens sadness)....guilt....I am sorry....I love you...congratulations....I could go on and on and yes you are right when you know a persons likes and dislikes making an arrangement is always a little easier....I will be anxious to see your pics.

Good for your friend...I believe it's illegal in MA to require a person to purchase a funeral pkg or to require them to use a particular florist so I'm especially glad your friend spoke up.

OK..It's done...I almost didn't fit it in the cooler...

I almost broke it getting to the cooler...crap it is huge..

I love how it came out...It came out a bit different than what I had imagined but as flowers do, they told me where they wanted to go so I had to listen....

The hot pink wad in the middle is a heart, it didn't photograph as good as hoped, it looks more like and orb...

Gorgeous design - and it is true - we do tend to be more creative, have more passion, put a bit more love into the flowers when they are for someone near and dear to us.

We are a business that uses flowers to help express emotion. We do empathize, sympathize, and share in our customers and their friends emotions. We are comforting when working with a greiving family, excited when talking to a giddy bride, joyful when talking about a birthday celebration, we talk it up when the guys want to be heros to their girlfriends on Valentines day, and so on.

I will never forget - one particular day a few years ago......at a shop I was with at the time.....the owner was having a particularly bad day......and apparently it came through while talking to a customer....... I intercepted a call later from that customer complaining about the brusque treatement......after hanging up with the customer.....talking to my boss about that was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do.....because normally, she was a very sweet old lady.

Well done, a beautiful design very country, flowing and romantic (if you can say that about a funeral piece!!) I guess it's because it was designed with passion.
