I just recieved a really strange call from Nex Personalization Services. They started with saying that they had a FTD for me. Very disorganized, had to ask for every bit of imformation, didn't know what the heck she was doing. When it got to their information, she gave me that name, then I asked for FTD code, she asked what do you mean? I said is this a direct order, she then said Yes. How are you going to pay, meaning MC, VISA, etc. She asked the customer who evidently was standing there, and she replied check. I said I can't accept a check I need a CC. She gave me the customers CC information. Then she asked for my FTD code.

I finally said "What the heck is going on? Is this a FTD, Direct order, customer order, WHAT??????? She told me it was an FTD, that they just send orders for customers. I asked if they were an OG, she said well basically YES. I informed her that I don't take orders from OG's. I would fill the order with the Customers CC as a Customer order. She said that would be fine. CC did go through.

So does anyone know who they are? I have never heard of them.

Was it a NEX through a Navel base?? They do send FTD and Teleflora.
It might have been someone unfamiliar with how to send. I had several over mothers day come form Exchanges from the military.

Even though Naval Exchanges are sending only, we always accepted their orders. And yes, they usually don't have much training on sending orders, especially the smaller bases.

Yeah it does sound like it is the Navy Exchange. Next time ask which base...it isn't what you think-like with 800 flowers, people behind a desk-most times it is a real flower shop but DINKY!! I think the biggest one I've seen was here in San Diego at the 32nd street base and it still shares an area with other vendors.

ETA: Sometimes they could be calling from overseas exchanges...this way it helps you to know where the customer is at and what they are trying to accomplish. i.e. flowers to mom/wife/sister, etc since they are deployed.

Oh my goodness. I feel really stupid and bad. Yes, of course it was probably from a military base. The girl said she didn't know what she was doing, and she really didn't. I was rushed and when I asked if she was a OG, she laughed and said "yes, kind of, it is a service we do for our people." Now I know what she meant. I didn't get the phone # for her, or I would call and apologize for being so short. The men, women and families are doing so much for us, I feel really bad now. Well, at least I did accept the order, and it is beautiful, I will deliver it to the funeral tomorrow.

I have never had an order from them. Next time, I will know, I will also inform all my employees. I wish she would have explained it to me better.

Vikki,

Don't feel too bad. How were you to know? Yes it's quite common knowledge among the military community that the customer service and those working at the exchanges don't quite "get it". It's quite frustrating. Cheer up! You did what you could with what you got. ;)
