Here's an issue I've never had to handle before, yet I imagine some of us will be seeing this in the future (if you haven't already experienced it:

A florist (claims she's a free lancer) dropped an image plus a link to her personal page on our shop's FB page. This person is from Montreal so the odds of us hiring her as a free-lancer are zero.

I've left the page available for fans to add images in case customers want to post appropriate photos, but am now having second thoughts.

I believe I can delete her photo post, but am not sure that's wise or necessary.

On Phil's School's page, a few former students have uploaded images of their designs and they look quite nice - so it works there.

Have you had to deal with this issue? How did you handle it?

only fan photos I've had added were wedding pics from one of my brides. They don't look "intrusive" Cathy and she does have some inventive work on her pages as well. Maybe it's an innocent plug for work?

Then the pic she uploaded to my page is a poor representation of her work. All I see is amaryllis and some random linear materials. Again, she is in Montreal.

Do you think dropping images and links helps with SEO? If so, I am scared for the spam we'll all be hit with.

sadly, I lack the tech intuitive but as you know much more about such things, I'd remove it. As I said, I've only had a bride post pictures on my shop's page (but then again, I'm not as well known as Avante Gardens)
maybe she is a "stalker?" or looking for links back to her pages.

CHR....As you are the info queen, you would probably know more that we about finding out what kind of link love she gets....she only has very limited friend list...Her work is OK, definately not outstanding and you do have to leave your page before getting to hers and it is obvious that there is no affiliation....

I believe a comment on there stating that there is no affiliation but thanking her for her request for help may fix the issue...unless you find out damaging info on links...I think if she is really impressed with herown work and feels she will be an asset to you, deleteing her may hurt her feelings and cause a kind of stalker situation and she may try to get back at you cyber world style...it could be more PITA than anything else..

If you don't want to delete her post/photo, I would at least move it off your main page.

Facebook pages are our own to do with what we choose. We should be able to decide what goes there. If she had any great design talent, she could be showing it on her own page. There are 2 images that I saw.

IMO - she's hoping to gain something by 'fanning' your page. jenny

Jenny, she had a bunch of photos on her page, some were OK but nothing quite like CHR's...she is lacking some design skills, but I am sure has her fans...looks like to me she just admires Cathy's business and designs and in her mind has something to offer her in her skills...legend in her own mind kind of thing...

If you click her name, it brings you to her home page, where you see her info on friends and links and stuff....

Then there are tabs, click on the photos tab and it will go to her photo albums... Definetly not mind blowing stuff...

hum, I'm not allowed to see the photos - no photo tabs when I look.

Hi Cathy,
here is my opinion FWIW. I think it is inappropriate to post a link that takes people away from your page. I am afraid she is getting quite a bit of traffic due to your post here, though. I would probably send a message to her kindly telling her that you will be removing her picture WITH THE LINK, because it sadly takes people away from your page before they are done looking. Tell her she is most welcome to re-post a pic WITHOUT a link. As with everybody else, I am in agreement that you are considered, rightly so, the whiz kid, we would be asking YOU what to do! lol

I looked at this yesterday when you first posted, and considered hitting the report button, but you hadn't asked us to do that, and really, there isn't anything to report. Whether or not fan sincerity exists is really beside the point imo, because the link is there, it is a deliberate attempt to draw people to her page.

I was just talking with a friend who posted about an after-holiday sale on her business page. Another business commented about their own sale. Similar business, but not in the same town, so we didn't know why it would have been to their advantage to post there. . . Anyway, my friend reported it to facebook and they took it off.
