In the 'you've got to be kidding' file:

Got an order via fax from FSI (they clear our CCs) with this description:

Deluxe Sympathy Arrangement - Vase - $45 including delivery.

Card from: Your FedEx Ground Family

Selling Company (you can only find out if you call since the selling company isn't listed on any orders): Red Lily aka CheapFlowers.com

Now why would they use this OG when they have at least a couple as customers?

Think FedEx was swayed to choose CheapFlowers.com with the promise of "free delivery by a local florist"?

*shakes head*

Thank you FED EX. I know they just got the contract with John Henry. This will kill us in Alaska if they don't relent. It cost me almost $900 to get 3000 of their wedding brochures shipped up here. I'm looking for new sources for everything!

This could be an excellent opportunity to raise corporate awareness on this issue. Even though Fed/Ex ships plenty of flowers for the direct ship segment of the industry.

I would assume that John Henry has someone in power at Fed/Up that will sincerely listen to them, and I'm pretty sure that we can get John Henry's ear either here or directly through the head office...

It seems to me that without florists John Henry would lose a significant segment of their income, and yes there are other printers out there, where by if florists began a boycott of any supplier that *partnered* with some other company that is not using a Real Florist for their needs we could surely get their attention.

This may not be an order from FED EX Themseles but people that works at Fed Ex and sending them to someone they work with.
It sounds like again, someone got dupped with a deluxe arr. thinking they ae going ot get something nice and big for peanuts. This way it makes them look good...even when we know they are not.

Is this any oxymoron or what!

Fed EX looking for FREE delivery????!!!!

One of our regular customers is the Fe-Ex office here in Pgh -- the HQ building. The have a standard amount, set up by a committee, that covers a bereavement piece, new baby & get well.

The orders come to us directly -- no middleman. They are almost always for local delivery. ( we do touch the eastern part of Ohio and W. Va, and some of their employees live there.

They pay on time, and never quibble about the order.....other than to stay within the prescribed $$ guidelines. If we cannot fill for the $$ they are spending, we tell them why, and they call us back with an approval.

While I recognize that FED-Ex ships other flowers, they also ship MINE to me at times, as well as handle stuff coming from other places.

Because of their young aged company, we do not see a lot of stuff from them, but some. And we are happy to work with them to get the job done for them.

Is it time, Cathy, to go visit the Fed-Ex people and get them to order Directly from you, also? Maybe someone who does the ordering at FEd-Ex is clueless as to "how this all really works".

Best Regards,

Cheryl
