I can't fully understand the concept of hearing when there is a fire that people still dont carry insurance. THe cost of a policy is so minimal compare to the financial strain it will put people through after a major or even a minor fire.

This week I am renewing my policies for both of my stores.

I decide the check the value I have down etc and really see if I am fully covered.

Maybe it is time for you to do the same.

Both policies where under value of what I currently have.

With increase in sales , computer systems, stock, fridges, shelving, etc, you may want to look at your overall policy.

Don't forget to make sure you have interuption insurance. Insurances won't want to waste time to get you started when they have to put out major $$$$.

Interuption insurance are also based on sales. SO make sure oyu have financial reports somewhere to back you up, in fact a back up tape of your daily sales would be great if you have a POS System. He said it may be good to make several copies.

I have a copy at the store, and one at home and my bookeeper has one on hers.

If you do have any renovations to be dome, how about adding a sprinkler system. May reduce those insurance costs.

Might as well do the same for home. Looks at each room, Take picture or even a video of every room. Keep it in a fire proof vault.

It is the little things that ads up that we forget to ad to our policy. Imagine all the stuff we always buy daily for our home.

We all work hard for what we currently have, let's keep our dreams alive.

Wishing you all a safe year.

Great Post !

get a quote first... they ain't cheap and considering we have been with them for atleast 80-90 years, I think I could find a better deal, but maybe not better service.

It is my impression that insurance co's like to low ball premiums for a few years on new policies, but then esculate prices dramatically as the policy ages.

We are listed as something like Policy holder 1200 or 1300 ish or something like that. I asked the claims rep a couple years ago if that low number meant something and he said it did.

I only wish it meant customer loyalty gets rewarded with a lower premium.
