As I sit here this morning, I am compelled to mention and think about those who in the last 24 have lost their lives in two disasters. Ironically, the one...water could have stopped the other...fire, but alas they were not in the same place at the same time.
Fire...Charleston SC...9 fire fighters dead last night. It's never easy, and often extremely difficult to understand why such things happen. The brave men went into the store to look for employees that might be there, never thinking of themselves. They were doing their duty, and lost their lives. God chose them, and this time to change not only the direction of their and their families lives, but the very fiber of Charleston.
Water...Texas...untold numbers dead and missing. Hundreds of lives changed forever, homes gone, lives in ruin, families torn and looking for answers. We can only believe that in His infinite wisdom the plan is playing out as He intended, and that He had a greater need for those taken.
Our prayers go out to anyone affected by either of these tragedies and will continue to do so. We can not fathom the reasons, we can not find answers for the reasons nor should we dwell on the search, but move forward, do what we can to assist those less fortunate than ourselves and work to rebuild lives of those we touch everyday.
