At long last, an investigative reporter looks at Alif Somani and Urban Florist.

Fleeced by the florist

There's a lot you can say with flowers. Love, friendship, sympathy, support -- you name it, there's a bouquet to express it.
But what sort of flowers garner this kind of reaction?

"A**HOLES!!!!!"

"RIPOFF!!! Ruined my anniversary!"

"They sent my dying brother DEAD flowers a week past the order date!"
For hundreds of online shoppers around the world, this is the stress-inducing experience they've come to identify with online florists.

Complaints against florists have shot up dramatically over the past two years, according to the Better Business Bureau of Mainland B.C.

But closer examination of the numbers reveals that most of the blistering complaints are aimed at one company: Urban Florist.

Since 2005, 77 per cent of the 638 complaints filed against florists have been directed solely at Urban Florist, according to the BBB. In fact, florists went from the 41st-most-complained-about business to No. 1 in 2005 and No. 4 in 2006.
Emphasis mine. Follow the link above to read the rest of the very long piece.

It includes an interview with Jeet Mandair (who appears to have snowed the reporter) and chronicles the rip-offs of Vancouver Floral Co/Urban Florist/Alif Somani.

Unfortunately, the reporter didn't tie Urban's activities to the current Vancouver-based dOGs. :(

To bad this gentleman did not spend his time and talents pursuing excellence.

We all aready have too much of the "shoddy".

I do regret having filled the orders we did for "Urban Florist".

I don't really follow these ripoffs very closely - is Jeet connected with Alif somehow?
