Talked to Rock an hour ago......he's got 8" of water in the basement of the house, no damage at the shop.
I didn't ask about Sunny....too late to call now but I'll send Sunny an e-mail.

Hi V,
We're still here! Spoke to Brian and he came through unscathed except for his exhaust!
We had 200 cm / 8 inches in our home basement (nothing in shop); insurance adjuster coming tomorrow morning. Many homes in our area and several other areas flooded like ours but some even full basements and higher! A river draining the hills behind our town crested late morning damaging 2 bridges and dozens of homes. In my 50 years, I've never seen anything like it - about 150+ mm (6 inches+) in 6 hours or so. About as much rain as we would normally get in July and August together.

You may have seen something on the CBC News etc about Placentia/Dunville/Argentia (road to Marine Atlantic Ferry to Nova Scotia) where the road collapsed as a car was driving over it and another guy brought the driver to an Ambulance in his boat; think he's ok. Their area was particularly hard hit.
Several towns' roads washed out and cut off completely. Quite a mess but fortunately no loss of life.
When these tropical storms arrive they're usually weakened so this was an experience I don't care to revisit.

Thanks for asking...Rock on....

Glad you all are doing OK - sorry you have to deal with the damage.

:) Glad you're above water Hugh. Thanks for the update on Brian as well. As I said in my previous mail, glad to see you still have your humour and entrprenurial spirit. ;)

Now, if only we could ship some of your water here... we are in NEED!

Glad all are well....they don't call it the "rock" for nothing yes?
chin up..sandbags down.....know we are thinkin' boutcha!!!
Mother Nature sure can be a fickle beee-otch !
As long as everybody is ok, then will turn into a great "story " to be told next "party in the kitchen" !! woo hoo
Let's celebrate in the bad times..as the good ones take care of themselves!
take care!

Thanks for asking , we came away unscathed, much harder hits in hugh's area and the Placentia area, I did lose the exhaust driving through the ponds (roads) in St. John's , struck a crater underwater , damaged fixed , no one hurt other than the bank account. At least with the latest rain no water restrictions on , can wash or water whatever and whenever you want.

I'm glad you're all ok Brian with little damage and none to yourselves.

I asked Hugh to send some water our way as we are dry. Well, he apparently took me at my word and sent copious amounts of rain... just got home from work after 90 minutes of pushing water into drains in the back of the store. What a freaking mess.
