I have been involved in the florist industry since 1980, starting in my family shop in England, since then I have had various shops around the country wherever we have moved.
Since moving to Scotland I have been web based and been mainly working with silk wedding flowers, but have just opened my newest shop in Banff, where I am now back with fresh flowers. I still will keep my website with the silk flowers, but hope to soon have the fresh flowers incorporated into this.
I have known about this forum for a good few years, and now that I am working with fresh flowers from a High St. shop, I would hope to be accepted as a member here.
I hope to be able to chat freely with other like minded people on here, gaining insights to trends in other countries,

Thank you for the welcome Carrington,
I am just trying to find my way around here, it is a tad different to my other forum, think I need a ball of twine to find my way round,:dunce

Welcome to Flower chat. I spent about 3 weeks in your country a few years ago and loved every minute of it. We traveled with Ian and Fiona Prosser. You might know Ian since he is from Scotland originally. He had a shop in Glasgow.

Yes, it is beautiful up here, wonderful scenery and a pleasant life style. I am glad that you enjoyed your visit.
We are approx 4 hr drive above Glasgow, most of the sundries wholesalers are located there, so a very enjoyable drive through magnificent scenery makes up for the lack of suppliers up here.

I am sure that I will, I have had a quick look around but the shop is taking up quite a bit of my time at the moment.
I see you are in E. Yorks, another beautiful part of the world. I know the Wolds quite well and have a friend in Wetwang who I visit (not often enough)
I look forward to getting to know you all more

Wetwang (great name!!!) is just short of 30min drive from us. Next time your in the area, you will have to pop in and say Hello! They have their annual Scarecrow festival on all this week, it's very popular.
