Ok, based on Luc's comment, here's another question:

Should FS'09 be:
  • One day long, so folks can travel in and out without missing too much time at work
  • Two days long, to fit MORE value into the conference and make it more appealing to travel to
Let's here it, folks! What do you prefer?

Sat and Sunday!

Me and Bloomz opt for the mind-blowing 2 day gig....we're used to that, even if it was in our former lives.

MAS would like to participate also !!

Two days not in the shop would be like a vacation for me, even if it is spent immersed in all things flowery and business.

Two days.

:)

I'd have to be crazy not to vote for the "mind blowing experience!" I will plan on spending more than 2 days in Canada-hopefully a week! So...I choose to let you blow my mind for 2 days and then I'm sure I'll be able to find other "mind blowing experiences" on my own!

Di,
Are you certain that Canada is ready for you.
She surely would never be the same !!!!
........nor would anyone else ! LOL
2 Days WS Free

2 Days

While 2 ENTIRE early AM to late PM days might be a little overwhelming for our brains, starting day 1 right after lunch and then having a full day 2 might be a good suggestion -- that way, people could travel early on day 1 if they wished, and still be able to attend everything. OR -- better yet, maybe the morning of Day 1 could be some optional Hands-on type of sessions - maybe one on blogging since lots of people don't have a good handle on that, and maybe a hands on design session. Participants could choose which one they wanted to attend (if any), and have a separate fee for that one session if needed. Another good hands on session may be Using Your Digital Camera and Editing Your Photos For The Web.

My vote would be for 2 days if we could seriously consider doing a Sunday/ Monday thing.

That way, people could do their thing & travel Sat night or Sunday Am....and still stay thru Monday (at least part of the day.)

Or..Start late on Sat evening, all day Sunday & part day on Monday.

Cheryl

ps....good suggestions for topies & workshops from the Bloomery!!

Be careful what you sign me up for!

I've always thought that a major shortcoming of SAF is that they don't tape the presentations, and hence the info is lost, even to the attendees who want to review their notes at a later time. I think it would be a great benefit to have the sessions professionally taped and edited and made available. Paid registration gets you a free copy, and sell additional copies for the people who can't make it (offset some of the costs, too). I know an excellent video guy (not me--a real video guy). He even handles the distribution.

In my time of attending these over the past 30 years I find the NETWORKING just as important. So my input would be to have an AM session say 8-9 and 10-11 Network 11-1 pm session 2-3 and 4-5 for 2 days ... Of course the amount in attendance can dictate these options

well I totally think this should be planned around my next visit to Canada!!!!!!!!
Don't you all???
It's a long way to come!
Just kidding, may be a couple of years, but will try to have the next visit coincide, ps Victoria and Missy, carpool/roadtrip with a timmy's along the way as my folks live in Union.
