After about a year of thinking about creating a blog focused on dissecting the SEO tactics of the major players in the floral industry, I decided to put my thoughts into action.

The name of the blog is Florist SEO Watch and my first post targets www.order-flowers-delivery.com and its use of what are called "Presell Pages" to boost their ranking. The post also touches on the now defunct www.roses-nationwide.com site and its current roll as a "Presell Page."

My blog is going to be different than Ryan's SEO Blog in the sense that his Blog seems to be aimed at helping and reviewing local florist websites: which is great I think. While I don't plan to go in that direction I may offer tips from time to time. For the most part, I will leave that to Ryan's blog (which I link to).

Any way, the general tone of what Florst SEO Watch is going to be about is reflected in my first post if any are interested in that type of thing.

Thanks for your time.

I am not real savvy on this stuff but I am learning. How can you tell when the website has a presell page?

I usually run a backlink check and then manually go through the results looking for signs or patterns that catch my eye.

For instance, to isolate a certain key-phrases they rank for, if you type "valentines flowers" into Google you will see them there. I would then perform a backlink check on that page and presto...a Presell Page: www.squidoo.com/valentines_day_flowers . As you scroll through that page you'll notice all the valentines related links to them.

Now multiply every floral related key-phrase you can think of and most likely they'll rank for it due to all their Pre-Sell pages that are designed for it.
