This was a great article, clear, concise and to the point. It was well done. Good job, and shows what an asset the Florist Detective is. Kudos!

Speaking of FloristDetective.com there is a new update regarding Proflowers.

You can find it HERE

It was put up yesterday, and the Detectives would like to request that anyone and everyone link to it from their sites. Hopefully we can pull this one up in the SERPS to take the place of the video tat had to be removed last week.

Thanks in advance!

Something like "Consumer Alert: ProFlowers"

Don't just say "ProFlowers" on your site, they get cranky. It's best to include the link in an article or paragraph discussing the FD page you're linking to. Be careful of the statements/claims you make.

Should it be like this

Ryan -- not quite right either.

Should be more like:

"Read the whole story about ordering roses, that come to you shipped & packaged in a box, thru ProFlowers, here....."

This way, you are only referencing PF as the "supplier of product". Remember, as a competitior, we need to be careful how we use trademarked names!

Just an FYI.

If you don't use the actual searchable term as the anchor text - it is going to have no effect. And a bunch of varied terms being used won't have the cumulative value it takes to push SERPS up.

For instance if the link is "frozen flowers" - who would search for that?

Anyone wanting frozen flowers I guess.

like "no talent ripoff"

Guys,
Read David's Blog post. He got it correct.

The Key is NOT to put the ProFlowers name or logo BY ITSELF on your home page, or other webpage.

you could use:
"consumer Alerts about: Proflowers"
or
"Flowers online - consumer alert on Proflowers"
or
"Flowers and Roses - consumer alerts on Proflowers"
or
"mothers Day flowers: consumers and Proflowers"

Then you are giving a generic term, with Proflowers referenced as the supplier of the product.

DO NOT bash your competitor!!! Keep it clean, and express NO opinion. Just point the consumer to the appropriate Florist Detective article.

The idea is to get the consumer alerts to tie back to PF, without making us look like "sour Grapes" and without generating a bunch of negative comments about us.

Should you not want to link, then post, in general, following the text that FD laid, regarding the perils of ordering flowers on line, and what consumers need to know.

Hope This helps! Back to work now....

Cheryl

Cheryl,

Please go easy on the bumping. It's only been a couple hours since the last post.

Will try to do what I can !

Having a pretty s@@@@y day here. Refer troubles, product quality issues, a one day delayed flight and down two lead designers, possibly for the entire week.
Just sat down for the first time today.
Doubt I'll be back til next week if at all at this rate.
Send some positive energy our way, and maybe a few strong prayers.

Best of luck to all.
