Humboldt Skunk.

No I don't think it's bottle brush. the leaves look like it would be a succulent....off to research

I thought bottle brush but would be better to see a side view. These seem to grow a lot in spain.

It might be a variety of a shrub called santolina sp.

To me, it looks like a little plant which, in this area, is commonly called ice plant.

My guess is a type of Euphorbia and if that is not right, a type of banksia Protea.

Similar to what others have said, it has ice plant leaves and bottle brush flowers.

Looks like a sedum to me - Sedum album "Purpureum" would be my guess. A great ground cover.

Callistemon citrinus or other Callistemon are grouped as small trees......not groundcovers.

If it was one of the Banksias.....the bloom would be a different shape. I am ruling out one of the protea species as well, as they are not classified as groundcovers either.

I think it is a variety of Santolina. That group of shrubs is classified as a groundcover by most landscape horticulturalists. Most species have that greyish-green foliage. The species that we know here in SC is Santolina chamecyparus - that one has yellow blooms of the smae shape as these pictured.
