Does anyone have a good link to a flower identification quiz? I did a search on google and yahoo...just not finding what I would like. Most of the ones I find are for biology and want the latin family name. I'm looking for something with the common names. Found one from I think it was purdue university but the images are sooo small!

help?....:eek:face

You used to have to do a flower identification test when testing for FTD junior and master designer...They had a book from the holland flower society(I think) that had latin and common names to study...it was a great book..

Thanks Lori...I do have a book from FDI...but I was hoping to test myself to see how much I've retained. I wish there were flower flash cards!! :)

Really?? Hmm...off to check it out!

Oh I see the color deck. That's a nice tool! still searching......

An on-line flower identity quiz would be great!

When I was in the college floristry course, we had to learn/memorize quite a few for the botany course, both Latin & common names for each species. So I made my own "flash cards" -- found photos on the web of each flower or plant and imported them to a computer photo album, added the labels. Then each night before bed, I'd run the slideshow, calling out the names. (Weird, but it worked for me.)

A great book that might help you, Aileen, is ...

The Floral Artisit's Guide
A Reference to Cut Flowers & Foliages
Pat Diehl Scace

Each page has 2 photos of flowers (or foliage) and point form info on names (both Latin & common), characteristics, availability, vase longevity.

Anyone here smart enough to create an online flower identification quiz? I wish I knew enough about websites and such or I'd do it. I only know the basics and a bit of coding.

when I was studying for my FTD master test, I got two dutch books and made flashcards out of them. (missed passing the test by one ID)

Rhonda, So you tore up your book and tuned it into flash cards??? am I reading that right?

yep, that is why I got two books, the pages are double sided!
Cut up the ones (didn't need every specific color name of freesia for example) that had a different bloom on the opposite side so I could put the name on the back of the recipe cards. With the duplicate books, I could utilize those which had difffering flowers on the next page...am I 'splainin that right??

want me to send mine to you?? They'll need a bit of tape or glue after all these years....I think I still have them!

awww. Rhonda, that is soo sweet of you to offer. No you keep them..never know if someone close may need them. if you do find them can you maybe take a pic so i can see what you did?
