Welcome to Flower Chat. There's a lot of great information here - just explore. Is Greenville a small town? What's the closest big city?
The Flower Patch
My husband and I decided three years ago to start up the flower shop. We both work full time for a Tree and Lawn Care company, I as the office manager and my husband as a General Foureman. We have three sons, and five grandchlildren. Our daughter-in-law has an accounting degree and has experience in floral deisgn. We made the decision to become florist owners and allow her to run the flower shop. With her experience in accounting and design, it seemed the perfect fit. My husband and I have lived in Greenville all our lives and have been actively involved as volunteers in youth programs for 25 years. We have been blessed with many friends and acquintences over the years, which we called upon when we opened our doors. We are now into our third year and our business plan is going right to plan for us. We have learned a lot over the past two years and have gained a greater respect in our community becuase of our Excellent customer service and designs. I work at the Flower shop physically each day for about 2-3 hours, holidays and weekends. I have been again blessed that I work full time for my brother in a family business, so my hours and work schedule is very flexible therefore allowing me get out in the community to market the business. My husband and I both do a lot of reading and researching - asking quiestions about the floral business so that we can add more experience to our business. Our business at the Flower Patch is a family business that our children and grandchildren will carry into the future. I welcome good friendship, honest communication with my peers and am exicited about being on this forum to gain more information. My hsuband actually was on this forum before myself and referred it to me. We have already gained a lot of information in the short time that we have been on here. I hope that I can give all of you some of my experiences and information to help others.
