got a phone call from a gentleman asking if I had stargazer lilies. Phone ID shows a Maine phone number. Asked if I could deliver to East Millinocket today and by what time. Said he'd call back....
Get a call from Perry's Florist asking if I have stargazers and if I can deliver them to a school in East Millinocket and how long before they get there. Says she has an irate gentleman yelling at her regarding a delivery.... She will call back.
I googled the number to find "Flowers Across America".....


(maybe I should call the guy back and tell him to cut out the middleman?)

I did!
We had a 15 minute conversation on his frustrations trying to get this order filled. He ordered them at 8 a.m. this morning for delivery ASAP. Apparently they called the order to one of the other shops who said they wouldn't have them until tomorrow (our wholesale truck comes through Friday a.m.).
They then called me after they had called the gentleman back to tell him that it would have to wait until tomorrow (they called him at 10 a.m.) His frustration begins.....he calls me to find out if I have lilies... he calls them back to tell them I have lilies, they call me to find out if I have lilies and how soon can I deliver them. They then give me the order for $40.00 and I tell them I have a $7.00 delivery charge to East. They discuss (background voices) and give me a total of $45.00... "geez can't merc it because my machine says you don't have mercury???"

I take the order cause I have the senders phone number....
I call the sender and ask him how much he actually paid for the order, he says $50 and some change... "Can you get them there ASAP"...
I explain our delivery hours and listen as he vents frustration regarding the sending shop. I explain "Order Gatherers" and give him my 800 number for future use (he has me hold while he gets a pen)....
I explain if he wishes his wife to have flowers on her desk before 10 a.m. we can make arrangements to have them there (my delivery girl lives in East...) if he orders earlier (like a day before?)...

I took the order, took pictures, spoke with my new customer and now will no longer fill for Perry's Florist in Lake Ronkonkoma NY. AND.... they have a regular florist listing code # with AA and a Flowers Across America with code # with ZA. They called back to make sure I listed the sending florist as Flowers Across America....
Maybe I should report it as Perry's Florist??? as that was what came across my caller ID??
