and Jackman's The Florist....Is this an OG????

Jackman's started Flowers by Sears.

In my eyes yes they are a OG.

They will even sell you a membership for you to get orders from them and be a exclusive florist in your town.

THe orders comes through usually through Teleflora.

Yet another phony florist. Unreal. Brandon and Selkirk are towns just out side of Winnipeg (Manitoba, Canada's major city) Assume they will be here in Winnipeg next. Have seen 451 Dundas street somewhere before, believe it is in Toronto. Many other cites have the same address.

This stuff is really starting to sicken me. (Check that, it's already sickening me) The internet is still a playground for these crooks to make $$ in ways that are illegal in the brick and mortar business, but are not policed online. The WS that they are using to accomplish this are accessories to the crimes.

What we need is a powerful lobby to get the gov't to take action. Many voices will make change to our industry, and will filter down to others as well.

Which associations are best for doing this? Are the Florist associations getting involved?

I have never lobbied for anything before, and I would like some help and advice. Do I start a petition? (Hate those emails I get) Start a web site? Anyone from Winnipeg out there? I am buying dinner if you want to meet and discuss a plan to get our politicians moving on this. Brandon? Selkirk?

Jim Anderson of London sold his flower shop many years ago but the name was kept by the new owners. Jim went on to work for Yorkfield Flowers for awhile and is an exceptional designer. I believe he is now retired. The owners of Jim Anderson Flowers contacted us several years ago trying to get us interested in his "wire" service. We respectfully declined. Gudrun

They also have locations all over Canada with the same street address.

....and they are advertising as locals and not charging Provincial sales tax.
