I think someone from this WS is a member on FC. If so, can you please tell me how flowershopnetwork.com managed to write a description of themselves in the FUNERAL HOME google listings in my town? Does this mean FSN "claimed" the funeral home's listing? I also wonder where else this happens on the net....

I know that flower shops have been warned about this practise in other threads and urged to claim their listings, but I had no idea that WS companies were doing this to ANYTHING flower related.

Interesting....

Google just randomly picked up a description about that funeral home from FSN web site (www.fsnfuneralhomes.com), a directory of funeral homes. It's not that FSN took over the listing of that funeral home.

I have a question to all that use this, they had called us this week, and when I pulled up our areas, I saw several in home business on there. and when told them about this, they said that they had the same standards as the WS, and would email us the information, well 4 days later we have not got it, So should we still do this, with a basement betty shop in there things???

OK, so now I'm wondering why our flowershop's info wasn't picked up since I did a search for Summerland Flowers and we do have a description, along with a photo. I'm just trying to understand how all this works.

Thanks.

Click on "more info>>" in the Google map listing.

You see tabs like "Overview" "Detail" "Reviews" etc?

Try that with your sompetitor's lisitng. You will see "Website" tab.

Click on that. You'll see that "description" you are talking about is actually one of the websites listed there.

Now try that with your own Google map listing. Your listing doesn't have "website" tab yet. Which means that Google hasn't recognized any website associated with your business.

Try changing the title of your home page TO "Summerland flowers & gifts". Currently you are using AND instead of &, which is inconsitent with the name Google map recongizes.

Flower Shop Network has a second part of their website that lists funeral homes to aid the customers in finding shops within their network that would be able to provide flowers to that specific funeral home.

Say someone went to their site and knew the funeral home name but was unsure of which florist would or could deliver there. They could go to Flower Shop Networks site and look down to the right of their screen and see Funeral Home Listings, they would look up the funeral home in that area and off to the right would be shops that are part of FSN to the right that would service that Funeral Home.

Hope this helps

RNS

Personal Note: I am a new member of FSN and to date I have been very happy with their services and they charge much less than any other WS I have used.

Thank you! Made the change - will see what happens. Appreciate your help. :)
