A while back Cathy posted the url for Phil's new website. I posted that the font was very small and I could hardly read it. At the time this was the only site that the font was that way.

Well I've tried to check out many of your Twitter pages and I have the same problem. I thought if I registered it might be different so I did and no it's the same.

Do any of you have a solution for me. I need to increase the font size for some sites. If I cut and paste the text in word it's fine, but I certainly don't have the time or patients for that.

I'm sure there is an easy solution I just need to know what it is and I'm hoping someone here can help. THANKS!

Suzanne, what operating system and what browser are you using? There are many possible ways to make adjustments, but it is hard to give any advice without that information.

Ok I just found a solution but I can't explain why it's this way.
I usually open everything through Yahoo. If I go direct to IE then the font on both Phil's site and Twitter is perfect.

So my next ? is does anyone know why I can't have larger font for those sites going through Yahoo. I want it all perfect everytime!!! Is that asking to much from a computer?

Ok, now I am going to have to leave the answer to the pros, Ryan or Dazeal... I have no idea why the problem would be through Yahoo. I was going to suggest that you check the settings under tools - internet options in IE.

If you know the website though, there is really no reason to search for it in Yahoo... It takes more of your time. Sorry, I know, some people like to do that.

What happens when you use Google? Maybe check and see what happens when you go through Google. Then you will know for sure if it is just a Yahoo thing.

I am lost. IE is the browser you open to go to yahoo.com. Yahoo is a website.

Here is a fix:

Anytime you want to zoom, you move your mouse wheel forward while holding down the CTRL button move it back to unzoom. One more feature IE stole from FF. Just Download firefox, they always come out with the cool features before MS steals them. :)

Many people open the browser, then go to the search engine, then type the web address in the search bar of the search engine instead of typing it into the address bar. It appears to me that may be what is going on here. What I don't get is why Yahoo is causing the distortion of the fonts.

Hate to tell you this Dazey, but IE has done that as long as I can remember, way before firfox was a twinkle of somebody's imagination...

Seasonals, you have IE 6 or 7? I tested it in 7 and works fine. Bloomz says it's worked forever. Instead fo goign to yahoo to search, try Google.com or msn.com. Does the font change too? Are you searching from a Yahoo bar? If so, go to yahoo.com and search. If you find it is only happening when you search in your yahoo bar, then change some settign in that bar. Or just download firefox and the built in search box, choose yahoo. Less clutter and resources to slow your browser down.

Bloomz, suck it, I knew you were going to pipe in! lol

How you liking those tabs in IE7? Oh yeah it came from FF too. I heard MS might open source so you noobs can have free add on apps like us FF freaks. Oh built in search engine in the uppright hand was also stolen by IE from FF. I could go on.

sorry Daze - using IE8 - get with the program willya???

Want a hit of cookie dough?

Guess I'm going to have to backdoor it to operate Twitter. I can adapt to that though. Cut & Paste was not an option.

I wouldn't even dream of cutting and pasting. That would be awful.

Just type twitter.com in your address bar. Technically, that is the "proper" way to do it...(sorry!!) :) It will also save you time if you can do that more often than searching for websites (when you know the URL of course!) I know, it is a tough habit to break. I have been trying to break my mom of it...

Suzanne,
If twitter is the main problem, you could always download TweetDeck. It is a stand alone program. It allows you to manage your twitter account without using an internet browser.

I know, the multitude of HootSuite fans out there will be choking at this suggestion. In many ways HootSuite IS a superior product to TweetDeck. But for your particular problem, I think TweetDeck would be a better option because no internet browser is required.

Well I have it figured out well enough that it's easy and I can see it. So I'll live with it for till I have time to play somemore. Thanks for all the suggestions. It's always nice to have some self-proclaimed nerds helping too LOL Not you Sarah!

Time to get back to work. The holidays are over. Now we need some Graduation orders!!!!

I don't know enough to be a nerd yet. But I certainly have all the other credentials! :) Have fun Suzanne, Twitter can be very interesting. I have learned alot on there. Made some good business contacts.

Just to add in: You can also control the sizing of items on a website by pressing CTRL-+ and CTRL-- (that's holding CTRL hit the + or - button) to enlarge and reduce.

Pressing CTRL-0 (the number 0) will reset you to the proper size.

In your browser -- what is >View > Text Size set to?

Could be your browser settings changing the intended site displays...

We keep ours set to 'Medium' and never have problems (IE6.5)
