Artichoke Crab Spread.

Before I start, I could not find artichoke when I did this reciepe. I used sliced mushrooms. However I can see people using also fresh spinach as a substitute. I also served this with fresh bread slice. I used the small french baguettes sliced. I also vision this reciepe done and then fresh shredded cheese added to it, put in the oven with more cheese on top to melt. I then see people eating it with tacco chips as a meal by itself.

Enjoy. Maybe Mikey will voice how he liked it when I prepared it for him and our guest in Sept.

Artichoke Crab Spread

1 cup shredded imitation crabmeat. About 4 ounces ( You can put more if you wish)
1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
4 Teaspoons lemon Juice
4 Medium green onions, sliced (1/4 cup)
1 can (14oz) artichoke Heart quarters, drained and coarsley Chopped
1 Package (8 ounce) cream cheese, cubed
French Baguette or Cocktail Rye slices, for serving, if desired.

1. Spray inside of 1 to 2 1/2 quarts slow cooker with cooking spray.
2. Place all ingredients except bread in slow cooker.
3. Cover and cook on low setting 30 to 45 minutes or until cream cheese is melted. Stir until cheese is smooth.
4. Scrape down side of cooker with rubber spatula to help prevent edge of spread from scorching. Turn to low heat setting.
5. Serve with bread slices. Spread will hold up to 2 hours on low settings.
24 servings (2 tablespoons each)

It is so easy to prepare and so nice to have before a main meal or even to bring for a potluck.

Enjoy!

I'm going to print that one Luc... and I'm going to up the ante abit. I will use real crabmeat! Also, I'm thinking the microwave will hasten the process somewhat. ;)

Thanks for the recipe Luc. You're a doll.

There is no mentio of a microwave in this reciepe.
SLOW COOKER>>> I have done it many times and it always comes out.
In fact I have to do one tonight (getting it ready for my wife) for a party on Thursday night.

No way. My hubby and I would polish this off as a dinner. 2 servings, 4 if we have company and we are feeling generous. Yum.
