Have any of you seen Jeff Foxworthy's new TV show?

It's called...Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader...It was on FOX TV at 8:00pm central

Having helped my 5th grade granddaughter with her homework tonight, I found the show delightful.

Watch for it next week.

yep and the first dufus (a UCLA grad) only won his money by taking all the "helps".......I laughed at the contestant having a complete lapse of all judgement....can't wait for the next one.....But for the life of me I can't remember the trapezoid... (didn't do well in Algebra II but aced geometry)

Those appear to be pretty smart 5th graders, but my daughter teaches 3rd grade, and the things those students are learning were what I learned in much later grades! And I've noticed that teachers are smarter too in the methods they are using for teaching facts and skills.

I ramble. It's early, and I'm getting ready to leave for 3 days of visiting relatives with Mom and my two sisters.

I'm rambling even more now. Good grief!

Have a great time! Sounds fun.

I too have noticed that kids today are being taught things way earlier than I was (if ever!). I have 17 year old triplets and a 7 year old. I used to help my big kids with their homework, until it got TOO HARD for me!!!! That was in about 6th grade! How embarassing!

I'll never forget the time that a high-school video class, in response to some local news feature that came into their school and asked some students questions like "what is 7 times 0?" and "who fought in the Revolutionary War?" and embarrassed the school, went to a supermarket and asked intelligent looking adults the same questions, and they we're just-as-if-not-more clueless then the students were!!

I laughed for days after watching that...believe me when I say there is puh-lenty of ignorance circling around us everyday.
 
The best of the best is still Rick Mercer's "Talking to Americans!"

I'm typing away while some army wannabe redneck is begging a 10 yr old girl to save him, so he can buy a camo-Lamborghini.

Have we no shame anymore????
