Being so near the capital where we keep all the politicians , must be all the hot air and steam from the manure, keeping it melted. Other than the smell when the wind is in the right direction, works for me. Saving a fortune this year on the snow clearing budget.

Seems strange to me....we get a foot of snow, then in two days it's gone...then rain...now cold...

Floods in Arizona, Ohio and elsewhere...ODD weather to say the least...seems to be getting wierder and wierder WORLD WIDE this last couple years....

Maybe Mother Nature is finally really pissed and ready to re-arrange the landscape...

consider this, the 9.0 earthquake which spawned the tsunami moved the axis of the earth 1% I think it said. What does that 1% do?
It is middle of Jan, we've had less than 6 snow storms all dropping about 2-3" each, then 40-50 degree weather melting all the snow or forming ice in the yards. Our lakes haven't been frozen over enough for ice fishing (until the past two days below zero). Finally Alberta is sending her clippers through with more 2-3 inch storms. Snowsledding (tourists with money?) is non-existant right now (very large trail system through here) so hopefully the forecast of a major storm on upcoming Sun/Mon will help. BTW, bring on the snow, it insulates the sides of my house and helps keep it warm!
-4 right now with 20-30mph winds. Dog had to wear his booties outside this a.m.

The earth's axis is tilted from the plane of the eliptic by approximately 23.5 degrees and this fluctuates/wobbles occasionally. That's what the tsunami did, it caused the world to wobble. Wobbles are normal - that's what they taught us in astronomy.

the sad truth is....

that I "tried" to get an order to Visayas Islands in the Phillipines, to honour one of the flood victimes, and mother earth INDEED did destroy a lot of innocent lives, and even IF the huge energy release of the quake (which in fact DID alter the axis AND rotation of the earth) hadn't done this damage, I'd like to acknowledge that we are NO MATCH for nature, and had better quit pissin' Mother off!!
