Thank you Carol for sending this to me. It came at a most appropriate time.

As an aside... I used to work for a shop in Wyoming, Ontario. We were recognised for many things... one of them being, the place to get a hug.

I saw this last year in Montreal, and I have to say it was the most amazing thing. I thought it was a bunch of nonsense till I experienced it....
Truly a beautiful thing.
The world needs some more of this.

So cool. I just finished checking my email. had the same video from sister inlaw. Had just finished watching it. opened Flowerchat. and what do I see? Free Hugs!
Loved it. makes you want to spend the day doing that in your hometown, Imagine how uplifted the youngsters felt after giving out hugs all day!

Yeah The Free Hugs started with a guy from Sydney Australia. He befriended a guy named Shimon Moore from the band Sick Puppies who took video of him and his Free Hugs campaign using his fathers camera. Shimon brought all the footage he had taken with him in his bookbag when he came to the states and still kept in touch with the Free Hugs gentleman via phone. The free hugs guy informed Shimon that his grandmother had passed away during one of their conversations and in Shimons spare time he made a video using the footage from his fathers camera as a "get well soon card" and put "All The Same" a song by Sick Puppies under the video. He then showed the video to a few people and they said he should put it up on youtube. This is just when youtube was blowing up and the video got like 1 million hits a day for the first week. This helped the Sick Puppies and the Free Hugs campaign grow. Since then many campaigns have popped up around the world. And now Sick Puppies one of my favorite bands is touring the states and world. Met the band at least 4 times. Really great kind people.
