I'm just in the middle of baking a loaf of sundried tomato & parmesan bread and it smells yummy.

Can't beat the smell of baking.

mmmmmm

(sorry - just had to share that with someone!)

Leila, I work in a place known for it's homemade and freshbaked breads... over 50 varieties. I personally don't bake but oh my the comforting smells drifting throughout that 40 ,000sq. ft. space is glorious. :)

Nothing like the smell of freshly baked bread !! Yum and a little sweet butter....
Personally, I just HAD to have a slice of lemon pie. I baked it to take to someones house and then the party got canceled!! Oh, drat-it was a terrible job but someone had to eat it! I just love baking smells, really make a house feel homey!

Wow! I reckon I'd have a tough job not eating it all!

I'm really boring about the bread. I buy one loaf a week and it's pretty much always Swiss 11 grain or Flax. I stay away from the white breads.

Although there are so many that are tempting I just can't lose that resolve.

Yesterday was my bread-baking day also. I did 2 loaves of something called, but the reicipe title, Amish bread. It's a sweet cinnamon and raisin bread which my husband loves. Your loaf looks yummy. Are you willing to share the recipe?

oh no Connie - now I feel like a fraud! I used my bread machine to make it!

Having said that, I'm sure it's adaptable - here's the Uk version (sorry we dont' work in cups though!)

3/4 tsp yeast
400g (14oz) strong white flour
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
50g grated parmesan
50g chopped sundried tomatoes (in oil)
280ml water

To me that's still proper

The fact you mix things together makes it baking in my book ... cheating is me rushing into the sainsbury local and buying a pre-packed!

haha - thanks carrie! in fact, i have bought the pre-mixes in the past so was quite interesting to see if there was much of a difference. turns out my new one is wayyyyyy better, hurrah!

doesn't work well with my waistline though - just come back from a 40 min run along the beach and a 20 min cycle ride. i WILL be fit.

Thanks Leila!
