quality issues are now a commonplace complaint, with hit and miss, as to WHEN, where, and HOW, product from South America reaches us!!
We've been lead to believe that between bad weather, "volcanoes", and cold weather, have ravaged the soft crops coming to North America.
Another party, well informed, states it's a lie...
Which is it??

Ecuador has had it's more then fair share of problems. It was hell when the volcano in the orient blow it's top. more so because no one saw it coming and then when we did see it coming (a huge cloud of ash moving to Quito) it wasn't until another 3 hours after the fact that the news decided to say something (4 inches of ash on the ground) so much for the Ecuadorian Emergency Broadcast System. Last week there was a very nice gasoline strike and for 6 days there was no way to get gas. OOP's on the part of the Government. As far as quality go's that is a working process. There a many farms here that do not service and quality (IDEA: Farm Liason) but you should be able to see that coming when you purchase a 80cm rose at $0.30 cents or less. There are still some very good farms here in Ecuador and Columbia. There will be alot of changes within the industry and they will be started by the information exchange. I do not work for the farms, but I have been in the industry for awhile and I tell it like it is. (been published here 3 times with some very informative articles). Let's work together and we can eliminate the garbage in the industry a concentrate on the flowers. The Truth
