Ever since we were educated on OG's, my business partner and I have always rejected anything that came from one. Well, we get a ton from From You Flowers. We started out just refusing them with a message that we would not fill for them. We ended up having to get down right nasty with the scumsuckers. Then, finally, we did put a "block" on them. Guess what? We still were receiving them!!! So, right before Mother's Day, I called Teleflora and asked them why if we have a block on them, are we still receiving their orders. Of course, I had to give them the whole story on how we refuse to fill orders for any and all gatherers. Teleflora says, don't know why that is happening, we will call them and talk to them.
Jump ahead to this past Tuesday, receive a wire in and low and behold, From You Flowers!! Reject, send back with our usual message that we will not fill for scumsucking order gatherers, and within 3 minutes we receive the same order back!!! Now I am really angry and frustrated. Call Teleflora again explain that I have a block and go through the whole story again with them. Same story they will call them and they have no idea why our "block" isn't working. I also tell them in my anger that it is quite obvious that these guys are being smart asses at this point and I am really fed up with it!
Now, come in today, message saying we have had had a stop receiving orders message on our system all week and we need to remove it. Check my computer, status is "receiving". Send them as such in a message back. Couple hours later, same message to remove our stop receiving orders messsage. Check again, we are fine, BUT have not received one order today, which is highly usual for us. Talked to Teleflora and they are insisting on their end we have a stop receiving message for our store. What do you guys think about this?

I ahve had that happen on my Dove POS. I was saying receiving but on their end was not. Have a tech run you through it because your orders are being rerouted to someone else. Also tell Teleflora that you want your 1.25 back for all those orders you recieved and had to refuse after the block was put on your system.

From You Flowers is owned/operated by ProFlowers?

That's correct.

We put a "block" on their orders but still received them. When I questioned TEL their response was, "you can put a block on them, but it's still up to them whether or not they want to send to you. The block is just a message that is sent to the other florist telling them that you don't want their orders".

Anybody else ever try using the "block" before? How did it work for you?

So it's not a block at all. They amaze me with terminology that is misleading.

Here's how TF explained it to me...

OG is Florist A. You are Florist B. Your competitors are Florists C & D.

Blocking stops A from sending to B.

If A sends to C or D and they forward to you (A) blocking does not help. You then get the order.

If you receive and forward to C, they forward to D, then D forwards to you.
You get the order again. This cycle continues until someone accepts the order.

That's how you can get the order more than once.

Best thing I found that did work, was to call them myself, tell them to remove me from their database and I would never fill for them, that worked, as well as with Flowers Sent Today and a few others.

To get their attention, send them a message requesting them to cancel the order, that **it will NOT be filled** and leave the order sit in your system waiting for the cancel. If they do not, and when they call to inquire as to why it was not delivered, tell them to check the order messages... usually gets it done.

Right On Mark

Right On Mark,

Turn the tables on them. Why should the filling florist jump through all the hoops for people like From You Flowers. Mark's way of doing it means the onus of responsibility is on the ordergatherer. If they fail to react, it's their problem. Maybe you get paid for an order that just was left there waiting for an answer.

I think on the Dove system, you can't send a cancel (CAN) on an order they sent you, but you can send and (INQ) asking them to cancel the order.

Let them do all the work.

You know -I just learned something - depending on your technolgy perhaps but I used to write these long WHY messages with forwards of junk ordes but I realized when an order of mine frwards since we are paperless with wire correspondence - I never even see the message unlss I choose to dig into the order to read it, which I never do

So you can say "never send me an order again you piece of ___" and all they will see is that the order forwarded. And this is why the 2 biggest ones just would NOT get the message I wasn't ever going to fill for them. It took forwarding a couple orders to Thombouctou to get them to stop.

We actually did call From you flowers directly as well to tell them we would never fill an order for them and it didn't work. I do like Mark's suggestion about asking them to cancel and will use it next time. That is if I get any more wire orders, I didn't receive an order today either. There has never been a time I have gone two days without a wire order.

We Have Been Receiving Orders From, From You Flowers For Low
Budget Amounts This Is Unfair!! We Never Get A Delivery Fee!!! When A Customer Walks In Our Doors We Charge Them The Correct Amount That The Other Florist Needs To Make This Order Worthwhile!! When You Go To From You Flowers Web Site They Collect A Delivery Fee And Pocket The Amount While We Don't Get Anything For Doing All The Work! How Can You Make Any Money On A $30.01 Flowers Designed In A Vase?????? Its A Total Loss!!! I Called Both Teleflora And From You Flowers And They Both Gave Me Unacceptable Answers! It Is Teleflora's Policy To Give The Delivery Price Listed In The Dove Network To The Florist..

Flowers Sent Today was always notorious for sending us orders for FTD Selection Guide products at the FTD suggested price - without delivery. We'd always ask for the delivery charge. Once, when they weren't responding to our ASK messages, we called them. The person asked how much we needed. She was told $7. Her answer was, "Oh, that's all? We have that." Hmmm..., I said. "So, you're telling me that you collect the delivery charge from the customer and if the filling florist doesn't ask for it you just put it in your pocket?" She said, "Heh, heh. Yeah." When I questioned FTD about this I was told, "Oh, they're OK; they're clean."
Since January we don't seem to have heard much from them, nor do I find their code number listed. Perhaps they've found a better deal elsewhere. Then again, perhaps they're just sending orders under another name. Just Flowers and Kay's are our current antagonists.

Just to clarify...

F.U. Flowers is affiliated with ProFlowers but is not owned or operated by PF. F.U. also operates floristexpress.net (linked from PF), usaflorist.com and maybe a few others. The call center is based in Old Saybrook CT.

Is it just my evil little mind or is the name F.U. Flowers appropriate or what? Struck me as way too funny!

I send the same message as Mark. Sometimes they cancel quickly, other times not. The ball's in their court once you request the cancel.
