Happy Friday y'all! Just had to pass this on to my fellow florist friends who LOATHE OG's! Just had a call from someone who claimed to be a Teleflora shop. They told me name of Teleflora design and I told them I would look it up on TF website to be sure I had flowers to fill it. She kind of argued, then I asked if she was calling from a shop or Teleflora. Then she said she was calling from Teleflora. When I told her I required a credit card for direct orders, she asked me to send email to [email protected]. Sooo...I then questioned her again on whether or not she was a shop or an OG. She stuttered and stammered and finally admitted that they were an "online florist". I declined the order and explained to her... The TF selection she sold her customer was listed at $71.99. She gave me a total of $60.00 and I also told her we were a small town floral shop and the ONLY shop I knew that delivered to the RURAL area this order was for and wished her luck in finding a florist that would 1) even deliver there and 2) that would take an order from an OG. Of course I was not rude, just wanted to make it crystal clear that we FLORISTS will not cater to OG's and damage our own reputations when we get $60.00 for an order that should have been $83.99. IF I chose to extend a courtesy discount like I do with REAL florists, at 20% that would still be a total of $67.19. We will ONLY fill orders from REAL florists...PERIOD.

As most of us FC REAL FLORISTS WITH A CLUE already know, FROM YOU FLOWERS located in Old Saybrook, CT, is a cloaked OG for PRO FLOWERS and with the BLESSINGS of TELEFLORA. (oh my)

In other words, when SLOW FLOWERS requires SAME-DAY-DELIVERY because the DROP SHIP FROM THE FARM can't cut it, they go back to DA FLORIST to fill their needs.

And so; " BEGONE SLOW FLOWERS! YOU HAVE NO POWER HERE! " lol
 
Update...From You Flowers...Answer is still NO!

Hey y'all! The BIG CHEESE just called me from FUF and tried to convince me they are a flower shop. I guess it took them a few hours to realize no one else was going to go there. In my kindest, sappy Southern Belle tone, I asked if he was certain they were not just an OG for Proflowers/Teleflora. He was NOT HAPPY and begn to argue about why I wouldn't take the order when this was a remote, rural area and no one else would deliver there. I told him if a REAL flower shop called me or if the customer wanted to call me directly I would be happy to take the order. Needless to say he huffed and puffed, but I just said Thanks for calling, but it remains my policy to only deal with REAL florists. Honestly, I feel for the customer that needs to get this order to the funeral home, but if FUF had ANY INTEGRIY whatsoever, they would contact the customer and tell them they can't fill the order, but I DOUBT they will do that. Sooooo....that's my story. Don't know why it makes me feel empowered today, but it does! I will be sure to check out the other deliveries when I make my full value order deliveries there and see if they found someone to fill their order. I hope everyone has learned by now to JUST SAY NO to reduced value OG Scams!
 
If they had any integrity, they would have given you full price and a credit card. My quess is they will simply take the customers money, never get it sent, and hope the customer never calls. They assume we florists are all gullible, but hey guess what FUF, we are wising up.

We have had many many many rounds with FU flowers. We refuse their orders, just to receive them again, then again, and then get a phone call to place the order. They don't know how to take no for an answer!

Be prepared to get a phone call in a few days asking why the order was never delivered. We have had that one more than once. The answer is always because we REFUSED it THREE times!!!!!

Don't want to jinx myself, but we haven't heard from them in a few weeks....

Good job on telling them what they can do with their orders. As for the amount of money they have for the arrangement, the sad thing is they more than likely accually have $20 or more than the tele suggested price but that is not even close to what they pass on to the REAL FLORIST!!
 
I think a good OG will pass along whatever funds required to service their customer and make them happy. Within reason.

I've done this many times.

The only other option I can think of is offer a drop shipped item. Wish it were so - but refusing their order doesn't really hurt them - just makes them work a bit harder for their money.

Which is ok too - I guess

Good job!! I too have had many go arounds with FU flowers where they would just keep trying to send the same order over and over. After a few months they finally gave up and I have not heard from them in a very long time. I did receive an order twice today from another Scum bag, Wesley Berry, which I happily refused twice within 10 minutes.
