I was just speaking with a business acquaintance from another town. She works for a company that has an affiliate link to order FTD flowers and get 15% off.

She said that she was on FTD.com and choosing a bouquet then remembered about the affliliate link. She clicked on the link and found the bouquet again. Instead of being 15% the FTD price, the "as shown" prices had been raised 15% then when she was given her 15% discount it brought the flowers back to the original amount. Anyone else heard about this? We are not FTD so I didn't check it out...

To make matters worse, she was sending to a town neighboring ours. (We do not deliver there.... maybe we should!) I told her she should call a florist there directly. GET THIS: She wanted to spend around $35 (plus delivery, I believe) and had seen some vased arrangements she liked on FTD.com. The local florists told her that all she could get for that price was a small mug. They needed her to place her order within the next 5 minutes to get it delivered to the hospital. Then, they told her if she wanted something larger for that price, SHE NEEDED TO ORDER FROM AN ONLINE FLORIST.

WHAT!?!?!?

I don't even know what to say to these florists. One I know well and will call, the other is pretty much a filler. Should I call them?

and YOU are "expecting" WHAT for an answer??....after you call???

Nothing to say to the shops...BUT the thing about changing prices via the affiliate link needs to be checked out.
