Well isn't that nice... florists will now pay a licensing fee of $3.07/order to Vera Wang on licensed products....

And it just keeps getting better...

I missed that info...fill me in. How is the fee paid? Is it added into the price of the container?

My question is... you sign a contract for the wire service... and they keep changing the game. What gives them the right to keep adding fees and change the contract. Is it that openended?? IS this legal???
When a person wants out of the contract... they have all theses hoops and strings or it cost money.

Debt in Section B of the FTD Clearinghouse statement.... $3.07 for each order filled...

A quick search on FTD website shows all 12 sku branded Vera Wang are drop shipped - "Shipped Direct In A Gift Box." So is the FTD site not correct and there are florist delivered Vera Wang items?

Evidently they are going to move them to same day???

Did you notice.... the $3.07 is 7% of the SRP.... nickles and dimes... nickles and dimes...

So if you don't fill for FTD.COM you won't get charged? We purchased one of her vases to feature those arrangements on our own website.

ALSO, watch for the the "NEW" legacy fee of $25.00, and SCREAM at the TOP of your lungs about it!!
It's hidden in the "Mercury Charges" section

Bettet homes and gardens has had a liscence fee for over a year. Get this, BHG items are every day and you get the orders codified or not. I honestly, wonder what Vera and Smithsonian arethinking. Smithsonian did a big fluff article on Ecuadorian flower farms in thier Feb issue. FTD has such bad feedback I cant believe any quality brand would touch them

Mikey ~ I LOVE the picture of Jaxon ~ OMG cute!

What the heck is a legacy fee?

Blieve you'll find a "legacy fee" is a charge for using software FTD (& TF for example) consider "old" and which is of their own design - for example using an "old" version of Mercury. FTD advises you that because their are so few "members" using this version of "....", unless you "up-grade" they will charge you this "legacy fee" in order to maintain the software. .

we are using the latest software......screaming is best!!

I have been rejecting all BHG orders since last year. They send us the .com orders even though we don't carry the product and then charge the license fee to us.
Guess we're paying for their advertising gimmick. The last one that slipped by my staff was $5.68.
The fee should be on the container before selling it, that's where licensed product costs belong.
Hiding it this way they can charge for all the orders with "similar" for 2nd choice too.
Why can florists put them on their website without charging this fee??
I haven't even looked at the Vera Wang stuff, don't need to be bombarded by FTD.com orders that I just have to reject.
(Here in Canada we have to back off the taxes from what they give us, leaves nothing to fill the order, way under priced!)

If they added it to the container like it should be, they would be even more over priced than they are and no one would buy any, this way the get the money and many florists don't even know they are paying it...

And your second point is even more diabolical...

Whether something is legal or not only matters if you are standing in front of a judge. FTD can charge you anything that they want to. They can change their agreement every month if they want. If you don't like it you can always quit. If you believe they have taken money illegally, you can sue. Then after you pay a lawyer $5000 to file suit and motions etc etc. They will apologize for a clerical error and refund you the few hundred dollars they owe. Case dismissed. It's a game that many large corporations (specifically insurance companies) play to make $100 18,000 times a month.
