Don't be surprised, Kathy

Kathy, you said "seems whacky to me"

We should not be surprised at anything the wire services do. They are out to save their own hide, and one cannot blame anyone for doing that.

UNLESS they are doing it at someone else's expense. And it this case, using your money to promote your competitor is SAVING THEIR HIDE AT YOUR EXPENSE.

The Wire Services are smart enough to know that they can get by doing this to the retail florist.

I don't want any mom and pop retail to go out of business, but it seems this industry will not get better until all the florist who enable their competition either drop their membership or fail and go out of business.

Just so it isn't me, but I am not going to try to save my hide by sucking off the rebates and outgoing wire order commissions.

This is getting to be such an old topic, but because there are going to be new readers of this board, we have to keep the wire service discussion foremost of all the subject matter.

FTD owns Roses.com it was part of the package with florist.com

nuttin too wacky bout that one

Well said Tom! and I agree. No need for me to beat a dead horse, I'll just say, well said Tom.

Kathy, yes it is wacky to someone new here and to probably 90% of florists out there who have no idea. To us, we argue and point fingers weekly on this subject. :) Ahhhh good times :)
