I know the proflowers video has gotten a lot of attention & interest, but the ftd.com video has also made movement toward the first page ranking in at 12th on Google for the search term "ftd.com" and 16th for search term "ftd".

According to my software, while "ftd.com" is searched for in Google a few thousand times a month, the term "ftd" is searched for a little over 21,000 times a month (on average).

In my humble opinion, I think it would take less effort to get that video on page 1 than it did with proflowers. The technique we used would be similar to the one we used on the proflowers video.

Yes...I did notice that some of those who anchor-text-linked to the proflowers video also have anchor-text-links to the ftd video...but what I am saying here is that I think we need a few more.

Just my thoughts of course.

I already have it linked.

This has been a brilliant move Mac. Ditto on the thanks from me.

Power to the People!

The florist people that is...

I know some of you already know how the Yahoo backlink command works, but for those who don't you may find it rather interesting to see just how many links from floral related webpages are linking to the two videos:

Nearly 5000 backlinks to the FTD.com video. Copy this into Yahoo: link:www.youtube.com/watch?v=brzya0F3sVw
Over 450 backlinks to the Proflowers video. Copy this into Yahoo: link:www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNYGZHPKQgs

What is interesting about the proflowers video is that when we started this we had less than 80 webpages pointing to the video and now we have over 450 backlinks to it. Also, Yahoo recognizes Bloomz & Eric S & Boss & Heather's websites as the most important of the webpages leading the charge...so in my book...that's something to be proud of.

I have a question?

Why does my link from my home page come up #2 but then at #23 it shows this link.
www.everydayflowers.net/?gad=CMOLhZYCEghfhc_MvfzJtBi_sLX-AyCLr50Y

This is a tracking URL I have set up for PPC. Why would that be considered a seperate link even though both my #2 and #23 links are coming from the same URL?

Actually, other spiders (most recently MSN) have been caught spidering Google Adwords ads. They shouldn't, since those links are protected by Google, but what it proves is selective honouring of the nofollow attribute and robots commands. If you domain is important enough (hello, Wiki) the SE's may just ignore the nofollows.

I read about that last night as I was trying to find out if anyone is going to get "penalized" for participating.

We're not, by the way, as far as I could tell.

The FTD video has moved onto the first page on Google coming in at number #6 for the keyword "ftd.com"; and for "ftd" without the ".com" it is now at #15.

Kinda of like a dream that both these videos reached the first page before VD.
