Got an order in today to go to neighboring town for a mother's day arrangement. Signature reads Happy Mother's Day. Down in the very bottom line under "Special Instructions" it reads Please send a note of apology with this order.
I sent back an ASK message stating "Apology Note? From Whom? For What? Not from MY shop as we did not have the order until today.
Am waiting for their reply.

Surely you have something to apologize for. Just throw in a random apology.......that has nothing to do with flowers. :)

Message back from FTD.com states "Please apologize on the behalf of FTD"
My note to the recipient stated the above fact and also that I did not know what the original problem was as the order was not received by us until today.
I don't appreciate having to apologize to a recipient when I don't know what the apology is for. FTD should send her a letter of apology, Not Millinocket Floral.

why did you accept this order?

I got caught in this a few times years ago by both o.g.s.. my policy now is not to accept this order..inevidably the recipient assumes the mistake was mine.. after all it my card it comes on..delivered by my truck & designed by my employees... so to me this is not a valid order.. I am quick to accept my mistakes and correct them whatever it takes ..but to do so for someone else..and a 'big gun' at that, who in this case is my competition?? not going to happen

let them send their flowers direct

isn't this what they have started to do on their website... so why not let them apologize with their own card & delivery service??
sorry for the rant..

I agree also, If it is my mistale, I correct it and I phone myself even if it is a long distance card. I had one also from FTD, order was not process by them.
I made sure the recepient knew it was not my fault.
