Okay, I got the slimcast concerning the "new sending contest" like I really am gonna send more orders their way if I don't get any in....BUT what really pisses me off (sorry) is the mention of Canadian Florists having to do a Math quiz? What is up with that. I'm getting real perturbed with this stance from FTD and to produce it into a slimcast sent to all FTD members with electronic media really heats me up. I read it three times trying to see if there was a "joke" to it (I may be dense and I'm not blonde) but I saw none. It blatantly stated Canadian winners would need to take a math quiz? or some such and if a Canadian florist won either Grand or Second Prize, two math skills?
Could someone enlighten me because this is really the straw breaking this camel's back (no pun intended) I'm really mad.

Don't fret it.........

because it's not FTD's fault at all.....It's our dumb government, any contest has to have a skill testing? (you can use a calculator) question!!

No big deal here, but I see that they must have the same dumb law in some U.S. states as Quebec does, because I read some where that Florida and New York florists aren't eligible either.

Let me see..a contest for PAYING MEMBERS?

What kind of gimmic is this?

A contest to pit MEMBERS against MEMBERS? who PAY to BELONG to a Wire Service Company?

And you folks fall for this stuff? I'll get you a FREE FORD is you need one..plenty of them on the side of the freeways here..LOL!

Sorry Mike. I do not agree with the slimcast. I find it absolutely resentful and will state so when I visit that darned board again.
I find it stupid that they would broadcast such language to all mercury shops. They will kick me out of that board sooner or later LOL........can't wait ...then let them charge me monthly for an FTD computer when I'm no longer FTD :)

Hmmm.

Its simply a legality, nessitated by suit happy CONsumers...

And the contest requirement comes from the Canadian side of the line, not FTD...

As to the contest Shel, when was the last time TF gave away a New Van ??

Alas...tis true Rhonda...

the way we apparently "get around" paying taxes on lottery and draw winnings, is by answering a "skill testing question", or two, or three!!
It has NOTHING to do with FTD or TF, or anybody else, EXCEPT, our Canadian lawmakers.
I'd like to ask THEM a skill testing question right about now!!
It's the way it IS, it's probably why our calculators, have BIGGER BUTTONS!!:D
Mike:p

As for the contest, I know it is a merketing tool for FTD to gathers more order through their system for 2 months, but my question is how can a small shop who send maybe 20-50 orders a month win versus a shop that send maybe 100-1000 a month?
Also is place like 1-800 etc, who only takes orders are eligible for this CONtest?
Luc

Mikey, I have a great idea; at the end of every month ALL politicians in Canada be required to answer a skill testing question to be allowed to stay in office. It would really clear out the dead wood! Come to think of it who would run the country? I've always said, I wish it were painful to be stupid! (I guess we could give them once on their face).

Oh...I don't beleive for ONE MINUTE...

that ONCE a month is frequent enough...judging by the amount of damage some of these idiots can create in just a few days.
I beleive, that gadgets should be installed in their cars, that they'd be forced to blow into, before the cars will start!!
We can call them "STUPID METERS"...if they're even remotely stupid that day, they can't go to work...if that's what they call it!!
Ever watched the Parliamentary channel??
Mike

Mikey, it would be even better if when they blew into the 'Stupid Meter" that the battery deliver a jolt utilizing it's full charge!! hahahaha
Don't watch the insomnia channel; try St John's council meetings, you'll never fall asleep there with Mayor Andy Wells in usual form; I'm glad I don't live there; actually it would be a good place to test out the "Stupid Meter" , jolt and all!

For all the jolts you'd have to deliver in St. John's , you would need a nuclear plant to supply them!! Ha , and least we know where all the local morons are on most given days. Hey, Rock , next time Andy wants a boat tour , you ( Bay Roberts) take him out on one of those Lithuanian liners you got tied up in the harbour.

Actually the best way to get the politicians is a skill test before they can run in the first place. That way very few would qualify and most elections need not happen , just give the seat to the person who could pass the aptitude test.
