Got a e-mail this morning about FTD introducing a new program.
Buying competitors coupons if they use it on FTD codified product for that holiday.

Does this mean, FTD feels the pinch about their advertising?
Does it mean FTD can't offer their own coupon program?
Does it mean thier codified products is better than the competition?

I never of heard of a program like this with any companies.

Interesting it is....

I do that here in MY CITY grabing my competitors coupons, thus getting their business into my store...

Just smart biz...IMHO

Boss wondering...

I have often thought about doing this, but the one hindrance was: What if people brought in coupons for some ridiculous low price. Well, upon further thinking I am guessing the anwer would be that it is still getting them into YOUR store to experience YOUR product and YOUR great service.

Do people ever continue to bring in really ridiculously low priced coupons and you honor them or do you have rules.

I have seriously wanted to do this as I know it really seems like a good idea. If you would answer my questions and maybe add any pertinent input I would truly appreciate it.

TIA, Your florist friend from down under.

 :scooter: It won't be long now. Are you suffering from PMS also? "Parked Motorcycle Syndrome"?

Whatever the gimmick is , I am removing myself from any obligation of taking them, if FTD what to do this crap let the customer go through the hassle of mailing it to HQ and wait for their rebate.

FTD is on the right track....

many, many, many high profile companies supply access to "incentive" coupons to attract consumers into thinking they are getting something for less than the "advertised" price.
An example is Future Shop, here in Canada that almost ALWAYS has incentive coupons to "lower" the "percieved" price HOWEVER....they COUNT on a substantial segment of the buying public into NOT redeeming their "coupons" because they forget, or eventually can't be "bothered".
We don't often get "incentive coupons" from other stores here, BUT, when we DO, we honour them, to make sure WE have as much of a chance of those customer's REPEAT BUSINESS!!
So, I'd say BOSS is right on!!
Mike

I agree if it's a suitable amount coupon, take it and make that customer yours. This is a way for FTD shops to take TF coupons at hoilday time without printing them etc.

I bought some notebook cases from a local dealer, got a rebate form from Futureshop, and got paid from Staples (so it said on the cheque anyway)

Great thinking on this FTD, and who says I never give credit when credit is due.

Patty to answer your question, I generally stick with the TF $3.00 coupon, and limit them to a minimum order of 30.00 and ONLY on LOCAL orders... not on wire biz...

My own coupon going out this week and next is $5.00 off $25.00 Cash and Carry ONLY, Fresh product ONLY, so what the hell, by accepting the $3.00 TF coupon I save myself $2.00...

FTD is using the ol' Pizza Hut vs. Domino's coupon trick... Those two Pizza places used to do that for YEARS... Now, Pizza Hut's are closing down in the burb's of Philly...three that I know of right off the bat...

My question for FTD is WHY? The ONLY ones who would do this are FTD ONLY members, right? TEL members would send them back to TEL... I suppose it's all worth it to FTD...Thinking about it, I did redeem over 30 TEL coupons at Christmas...

...But I don't think ANYTHING could have helped the Waterford Ornament, though...

Or Herb....

TF pays $3.00/coupon FTD pays $3.25/TF coupon... so for every 4 ya get an extra $1.00

But what the **** do I know

What Pipe Dreams...

Yah your going to benefit from that promotion before anyone has seen a written notice saying you will be reimbursed for thoses dollars discounted AGAIN. How are they handling the reimbusement of the DOLLARS using a competitors coupon?

Mail them in, FTD pays $3.25 for every TF coupon...

I think TF only pays $3.00 ?

This weekends flyers full page in the local Dominion store (Loblaws) FTd roses in a box or a vase anywhere in North America for $59.99 and you can use your FTD coupons or any competitors. **** them this is one Florist who is not taking any GD coupons from anyone or any orders for roses from any bloody supermarket!!

Does TF put such limitations on their coupon?

No George, not that I KNOW OF....

But since its MY SANDBOX I get to make the RULES

I know. ;)
As you know, flowerSoft has a frequent buyer program. One of the options is not to include wire outs as part of the program.
So far, to my knowledge, every one using the frequent buyer program has opted to included the wire outs.
Most say something like it is not worth pissing off the customer.
Most of them do, however, exclude funeral work from the program.

Hmmm... that does not make sense to me, SYM work is the MOST profitable in the Biz... wish thats all I had to do...

As to the other, its very easy to just say NO regarding anything I do not deliver myself...ie: wire biz...two different animals...

Well, they excluse SYMPATHY work because it jacks up the average order by a lot and if they order several pieces, it brings them to the minimum required a lot quicker than planned.

I believe it states you must send in proof that you changed the consumers mind from a teleflora product to an FTD product. For those of us who don't buy codifieds? What good are they...
I don't have too many coupon customers on any of those anyway.
Maybe one for a Tel special at Christmas this year compared to about 15 the year before.

Re: It's CHEAPER than THEM SPENDING THEIR OWN MONEY!

I suspect that, they thought they were going to ride the TELEFLORA ADVERTISING COUPON COAT TAIL for VD WEEK of 2004 by REDEEMING SOMETHING which NEVER HAPPENED!

Since TELEFLORA had no coupons that I could see, the other TEAM is left HOLDING THE BAG.

And since, I have not seen ANY ADVERTISING (paper) from them, I would think that, they may have overplayed their hand (again).

**** if that OLE $40 MIL in advertising just never really seems to get past the DUMMO MEMBERS who still believe their LIES!

And, WHO I BEE to CALL THE KETTLE BLACK?

I TOO, was suckered in by their BN and his BS!

Forutunately, and FORE MEE, I finally discovered THE TRUTH, and as they say; " THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE! "

FORE! TOTO and WEE BEE FREE!:>
