2 weeks ago there was discussion of FTD sales and order volume claims and how they were stating that they had driven business to florists over the past few years.

Such a statement sits uncomfortably alongside what FTD is doing on You Tube:

I think that only once across various to camera pieces is there a mention of a florist member. The rest is about drop-ship flowers. I know Proflowers have done similar work for You Tube postings but then Proflowers is not about "...artisan...florist..." work.

Nothing against showing people floral care and tips info. and attempting to sell flowers on You Tube, but actively promoting how straight forward and simple it is on-line to help you drop-ship activity speaks volumes for where your heart really lies, doesn't it? It also actively diminishes the the "...artisan...florist..." work by suggesting how, by ordering a drop-ship, you, too, can have all these beautiful arrangements at your home, office et cetera.

(And notice how the Director of Design at FTD pulls alstro flowers -amongst others- up in an arrangement by their petals: not particularly constructive and it does not endear respect for flowers themselves nor the florist trade).
