FTD press release

There is a reason.

There is a reason for this kind of announcement.

Wall Street is looking very hard at risky investments. FTD.COM over the last few qtrs has shown very a slow growth rate when compared to other web businesses. FTD florist business has been shrinking.

To distract investors away from these facts you bring up the potential for new growth overseas. If FTD can get growth from overseas, it will hide their sluggish growth here in the US. And since FTD uses EBITA as their standard to measure their success, it is very easy to make those numbers look great.

The one thing I found as interesting is that they only have 1000 florists using their flower buying program. That is tiny by any measure.

With all the great investment grade corporations that exist, I can't see why anyone would invest a nickel into FTD.

The things that I found interesting is that Domestic growth would come from Technology sales, fresh flower sales and Grocery. I must have missed the part about helping florists generate more business.

Also, current cost of them getting an order is $13.00? Wow. They also talked about a Giant order gatherer who shall remain nameless (except that everyone knows who it is) was generating 400,000 orders a year or $2 million in orders. That's a lot.

Wait 400,000 order or $2 million in orders (menaing sales)?

Isin't that $5 an order? Or did you mean 4000,000 to 2 million orders.

It was 400,000 orders = $20 mil in sales.

Interesting that the former .com guy is now pushing offline marketing to avoid the competitive online environment.

Guess I should of read the press release.

So $50 average. I think that tells you a little something about that big sender. Lots of small orders i guess its time to go after those small orders in our area. I'll just create the "Small Order Section" on the website.

That does have something to think about.

that's the average that we've come to grips with, and many smaller orders make the day pass much more quickly!!

Not to be nit-picky Mikey, but how can your average be $50 when your stated minimums for an incoming wire is $50???
We do many orders for less, for legit shops, and use that "minimum" to "legalize" our price for OG's that we DON'T want to do business with.....hmmmm...make sense??
