I was reading Mark's delayed response thread and it dawned on me that I saw a new fee in FTD's statement.

it is a Green tax ( or Green fee) for $3.99.

what is that?

btw and ftr, my last days with FTD membership is end of jUly

...fee income. I am out if they do not refund and eliminate. The small things will get you when you are not looking. Scumbags take when you are not looking.

I believe the green tax is charged if they mail you a statement.
I think I read it in an earlier thread.

I can just imagine how well my customers would react if I charged them a Green Tax for mailing out statements....

What's next a FSR visit tax?, a CS phone tax?

And they just called me this week, asking me to please become a FTD florist, they needed someone in my area. Only 29.99 for first 6 months. HA! Told them I don't need a wire service. His response was. You don't need a wire service? That right I said and hung up. 29.99 my foot, with all the extra charges. Get out while you can.

I sent them a CAN my membership merc message first part of May. It takes three months to get out of the system.

this is the third time (that I dumped FTD)..... will it be the charm? ;)
 
this is actually quite simple.....I deduct $3.99 from my cheques when I make "payment" to THEM......it's called my "piss off" tax....

Make the math, may be about $20,000 in revenue a month, $250,000 a year for them.

Here in ontario we pay to have a a ccount with electricity, gas companies. THe fees are like $10.95 or more.

I can see FTD starting low and charging you more every year.....
Just like banks....every year there is a increase even if need it or not to pay their bonuses.

I tried to give you a green point but ti says I have to spread it around more. That's a piece of crap. lol

What will you do when you want to wire out orders for your locals?
 
I don't think FTD is using SoyOil, so if it is petro based, non renewable.

also the little plastic mailing window isn't renewable. :rolleyes:

Daz, I still have TF, which is where the WS action is anyway.

I was also surprised and frustrated by this "green fee." I looked into getting it removed because I often access my statement online anyway. I don't even need the paper copy mailed to me.

The only way to get out of it is to sign up to have the money automatically direct deposited into their account every month on a specific day. If you don't want to do that then you can't get out of the fee.

Ridiculous.

...ftd has used the 'politically (in)correct' political agenda
the 'greenies' have jumped on and turned this 'agenda' into
a fee income based revenue raiser, FOR FTD. Simple.

Typical al gore shananigans where costs are passed
on to others w/o the instigator being financially affected.
Very, very sad. Let everyone else pay but me syndrome.

If they were so concerned with the environment they would have stop sending out the FTD book long ago. They use the term when it fits them best. I just opened the May book because I was looking for the new cd for mercury. Otherwise I wouldn't have opened the package the book came in.

I'm so surprised you're leaving WS I always thought you were the biggest proponent of it. What was the straw that finally broke the camels back?

I'll go out on a limb here and suggest that JOE, a very respected and astute businessman, probably downloaded Cathy's Wire Service Profitablity Calculator Spreadsheet, and filled in all the cells.

In the end, it may have proved to Joe that, there was simply not enough incremental income left over to justify the DUES and all the other ancillary expenses associated with his continued membership in FTDI, and so, JOE made a business decision.

While we've had our differences over this WS issue and filling their DOT.CON orders at such a severe discount, at least with JOE, I always know where wee stand!

To encapsulate our common dillemma, it's always ALL ABOUT DA MONEY and OUR PROFITABILITY versus THEIRS!

Hats off to JOE, and moving forward with our 100% consumer sales rather than working for the WS's Smoke and Mirror Wampum funny money at net seventy cents from their dollars and with NOTHING for our COSTS of DELIVERY!

I might be wrong, but trust in the fact that, JOE will set mee straight! lol
