Hi, our Website address is www.fullersfloral.com. We opened for business in July, 2008. We have taken floral design courses and had extensive on the job training over the years. I was lucky enough to meet a wonderful New York Florist, Mr. Torpey who referred me to this service. I hope to learn as much as I can about everything floral! I have a lot of new techniques to offer and marketing ideas as I have an extensive background in both areas, as well as my partner/mother. We own the building that we work from, and I live here for the winter months.

Hi, Thanks for your interest in our community. Where did you get your on the job training? Sorry to be an idiot, but you said that you own the building you work from, is it a retail store or your home?

Thanks, in advance, for your additional input!!

Hmm a ToTo reference!! I'm sure they must be a real flower shop!
Welcome (I have a question about "living here in the winter?")

Welcome to Flowerchat! Looking forward to reading your posts!

Sometimes I feel that I live at my shop not only in the winter months but all year long!!

Hi there Amy!
I do own the building I have my business in and it is my part time home I suppose. This is a rental property that I own with several units, this bottom floor being used for the retail floral sales as well as an apartment for my sons and I for 1/2 the year when my husband travels with work. It is very convenient to just stay here sometimes during the week as well. We are very blessed to not owe any rent in this terrible economic climate!
My on the job training has been years ~literally since high school; working in local flower shops and then that interest drove me on to take floral design courses. I have done zillions of wedding flowers, funeral flowers :( etc., prior to becoming a florist via my church.
What about you? What brought you into this business?

Hi Rhonda,

Isn't it lucky that I get to live here in the winter. I just hate driving in the snow! We are very blessed to have this location & all the conveniences that it offers. Lucky me! While convenient at times, the ability to stay here, just makes us have to work harder!!!! This is an apartment building that we own and have for years now. So, the bottom floor is the storefront and then there are apartments behind and above it. Its very convenient and yes, we are a "real" flower shop. Feel free to stop by for a visit if you are local! We opened in July, 2008 so we are new to the area and would welcome the visit! Thank you for your interest! This flower chat is so neat, I had no idea so many florists were on here!

You know, its the truth! Its been so nice being able to stay here on wedding weekends or times we have a lot of extra work to do, like last weekend! Whoa!!!

If Toto sent you our way then it's all good.

Welcome to the community (it really is one).

TOTO's recommendation is good enough for me.

There is at least one other FCer who has an apartment above her shop, and she stays there at such times as Valentine's and when she has very large weddings. Her shop is in Ohio.

Welcome to FlowerChat

Me too BOSSman - I'm not sure I would use the words TOTO and luck in the same sentence either. LOL

Welcome to Flowerchat.
