Your web site visitors will love this service because they merely select the flowers and pay for them - they do not need to specify a delivery date, nor your funeral home address, since your web site already knows this. What's more, they are buying directly from your local florists and thus have the added convenience of online ordering while retaining the value for money when buying direct.

Anybody from around Brighton, MA to verify a local connection?

Thanks Lori.....it is good that what they said was true. I looked at the other two funeral home page examples, they are surrounding FH that the same florist services.

However, the model is very simple. We can do this because we provide a way for your local florists (that you designate) to list their products at your web site. Extended family and friends that visit your obituary pages can then directly purchase flowers from your local florists without leaving your web site. We generate revenue from this activity and, in return, we pay you for the privilege of operating your web site.

I guess the florist pays the web company a fee or order percentage, and then the web company gives some of it to the funeral home?

This is becoming more popular. When I did my cold calling of funeral homes, many did say that they were in talks with their web companies because they are tired of the poor flowers coming from 800-flowers shops...800-flowers is one of the biggest used florists on many fh websites. the funeral directors have noticed a definite influx of badly arranged flowers and told me that they frakly are tired of the whole scene...They also made comments that flower shops change hands so often that they find it hard to recommend one shop and keep up with who owns it....

This should speak volumes to all of us that these funeral directors want us to go above and beyond in order to get their business, one call may not do it, it will take some stroking and nurturing to get this biz...they have lost faith in us and in order to win them back we need to prove we want their biz, especially the mom and pop FH....
