So now that it's passed I can say that I helped with the flowers at the Heinz farm for the Spouses dinner, the Phipp's dinner and the Spouses lunch at the warhol the next day. It was an insane week to be sure. I had to do a round a bout route just to get the the wholesaler and passed tons of protesters along the way. Today I'm setting up a wedding for someone that had the misfortune of scheduling their wedding this week. Cross fingers for the poor girl that we remembered to do everything.

Great job! Boy would it have been hard to get around the city. I locked up my doors for three days and worked from home. It was pretty tense here for awhile and I was a little worried about all of the city florists that stayed open and had to get around town.

The protesters were way too close for comfort to my shop for awhile and I was on edge watching the live coverage waiting to see my windows getting smashed. All is good in the end and I hope something positive comes out of this world meeting, because Pittsburgh sure took at hit for it.

All I have to say is THANK GOD it is over! Can't wait to get the city back to normal!

Pittsburg sure got some rave reviews as a trendy city rebuilt from the ashes.

I had a wedding at the DAR when the meeting was held in DC several years ago. They had the entire area sectioned off. I was allowed in through prescreening. It was totally bazaar and quite driving through empty streets, kind of nice really.

Glad SOMEONE was doing business during those two days! The only other person I saw who was busy was our friend Larry at Boulevard Glass who replaces glass in broken plate glass windows!

We were nervous because the "unauthorized" demonstration march was planned to go past our door. The police stopped the march after only a few blocks. The protesters dispersed and went to other areas, like Oakland, where they did some damage. In the Strip here, where many were worried and boarded up their windows, there was no sign of the protesters.

I was wondering if there were any flowers provided. This is the first I heard or saw any mention of flowers.

Maybe you should market yourself as the "Official florist of the G-20." My son and I were laughing at KDKA boasting that they were the "official G-20 radio station." We wondered if they gave themselves that title, and if we should declare our shop the "official G-20 florist." Then we realized that we couldn't get any deliveries to the summit anyway because of security... :)
