The WS are reaming up daily...

go to Google, then in the top left you will see a horizontal menu.

Click on the Shopping and enter Flowers in the search.

Voila... Look at the assortment of companies that are order gathering and pumping orders through the WS to you at miniscule profits.

Home Depot, Amazon, Neiman Marcus, Sears,etc. Just spend some time shaking things down on flowers and florist searched on the web and you are going to be one sick puppy.

The WS are NOT,NOT,NOT your friend. I'm now using the Teleflora Member Director as a book stop. When I think about the monstrous business of the WS, and how they are taking the soul out of our industry for the quick buck it is world class disturbing.

The best course of action I guess is what we do. We accept NO, NADA, ZIP wire service orders, in fact we even check the web to make sure the sender is a verifiable b & m florist.

I realize we are just one little pimple on the elephants back, but we are an irritating one. LOL

Not 1 hour ago, a nice little old lady came in with a coupon she got in the mail from, J C Penney........it instructed her to go to
www.jcpenneyflowers.com and get her discount. So we had "class" and now she's graduate of "There's only one person to call, US".

Yeah, and B & M florists get to fill orders for the JC Penney/Teleflora marriage.

Then again when I look at the Teleflora Member Directory 3+inches thick I remind myself what a huge membership they have to maintain. Anything to keep from letting the "emperor from knowing he has no clothes" (B & M fill shops)

Guess I'll move on, got the nasty bit off my mind...onto better things.

Yes...........The coupon was for "a website" offer only and it offered her $5 off at $12.95 service fee. So I re-directed her to our catalog (picked very similar profitable piece) and then honored the $5 off ($12.95), so basically I lost $2 off the delivery charge. But, now I have a new customer and before she left, I was able to get everything except her underwear size, so she will be in my funnell now and getting my stuff in the mail/email/etc. now....................I honor when I can, the customer information is worth the $2/$3/$5 loss. I also provided her with a return discount for 30 days of 10% off if she writes a testimonial or gives us one referral.........................
