So Bettina is FINALLY convienced that the $500+ we spend on Being bloomnet members and getting close to NO orders a month isn't worth it anymore....Thank goodness.

So she actually called Bloomnet yesterday to terminate her membership....Seemed a bit too easy to just send a certified letter and then we are done. That's what she told me they said.

I worked for shops who've dumped FTD, and it was a hell of a process.

So is there anything else I need to know to help Bettina get this done quickly?

Thanks!

The information for termination should be written in their book or contract.

Definitely a certified letter is necessary. And document with dates, times and who you spoke with at Bloomnet during the process. Ask for confirmations of receipt of communications. When we finally dumped TF we left no paper trail stone unturned.

We got rid of them as of April 30--The best Mother's Day we ever had--no using all my beautiful flowers on their ugly arr at 72%!!!
You need to do it a month in advance of their quarterly listing--as long as you do that--you are out!!!

Think "Hotel California" - you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave! Just kidding, but I will say it's a helluva lot easier to join than to quit. Make sure your letter states voluntary termination with BloomNet and any and all affiliates, entities, etc,.and that it's sent certified to Christine Mossa, 1 Old Country Road, 3rd Floor, Carle Place, New York 11514, who will completely ignore it. Make sure that you ask them what is the earliest date that you can terminate your membership, as you will have to pay to the end of the current directory phase, particularly if you never canceled the printed directory. Then you need to put stops on your system from that termination date - I think you can only do 10 days at a time. Even if you do everything by the numbers, be aware you will continue to get calls, and sent orders, in spite of removing their software from your computers. DO NOT fill any of these, or you will be negating your efforts to end the relationship. Good Luck! Our certified was sent March 2nd for April 30th termination which we were told was the earliest, and last month received an invoice for May for membership fees and directory advertising. Got calls as recently as last week to fill their orders. If takes them a long time to get it right, or perhaps they're hoping to catch a staff member off guard who might fill one without knowing.

Shannon.. My termination with Bloomnet was pretty easy.. Sent termination letter certified, a couple of phone calls to stay and I just told them no.. No more orders after 12/31, I couldn't get on system any more, locked off. and that was the end of the stroy.

Shannon, you must be over the moon, congrats!

I sent a letter certified mail with return reciept, (which I never recieved but I still have my document.) As others have said, you will be required to pay $19.99 per month membership fee until the new directory is out. As stated, DO NOT FILL ANYTHING OR SEND ANY ORDERS that would be considered the next quarter or she will be hooked for another three months. I sent my letter in January, removed all software from my computer so no orders would come through. (holy cow do I save a LOT in ink!) They will still attempt to send you orders, Bloomstoady and justforyou will NEVER quit calling to give you an order.

I am STILL in dispute with them over extra listing fees, which they can't seem to get out of their system, idiots. Tell her to make sure that she lists all of the things she should NOT be charged for any more, including Floriology. They will maintain that "subscription" unless she tells them in writing not to.

Good luck! There will still be some headaches but the skies are probably already clearing for you, hooray!

I had a pretty easy time getting out, but I had a good rep that made it happen. I did send a certified letter to the address they told me when I called to alert them.

Document, document, document...

I sent my certified return receipt letter to old country rd address on March 1st for april 30th removal....This was the dates I was told...I shut my system down april 30th. and never accepted anything else..

I also sent mt letter of resignation through e-mail to every department head. I was called by the president mark nance, the vp, the area rep supervisor and my area rep all giving me incentives to stay, alternate offers, and everything, I just refused. I was just all done...I just got a bill for the product I refused, sent an email to all the department heads and call customer service, they said they will adjust, so we wait again...I will not owe them anything because I have great documentation and they know I have kept it because when I resend any email it is replied from my original resignation letter...When I talk to anyone, I ask to get and email resopnse, if I don't get one from them, I send one with a return reciept or ask them to respond...

ON may 3rd I get a package of Martha vases, I refused that crap...and that promted me to call and send an email to all the department heads again...yup, you guessed it, they didn't get to my resignation letter in time for removal of my ad, but because I had proof of resignation, I will not get billed...

I said, on one of my marathon calls during the process, to person a to zed that I find it shocking that an international company is unable to easily manage a resignation. "Please don't offer me free stuff, because nothing is really free. Some poor soul in Wire World is paying for the freebies you are throwing at me. I don't want them, I don't want your service. I will put this in writing, again, so there can be no confusion about my intentions".

Oh and I told them, politely, to not call again because I would then be forced to be less polite.

Our termination with them was a nightmare. It went on for years. They turned me over to a collection agency when they owed me money. If you have any trouble with them let me know I have names of the people in their office who have the authority to help you stop the BS. Good luck its a great move.
