quickly then back to work.

I just ended a phone call from a guy in Wisconsin, he was looking for a florist to send flowers to Mom in the next town north. He found us after 3 phone calls. #1 was a call center in Florida, #2 the florist who closed in December #3 an "event" florist who works from home then us.

What can I do to position myself higher. I am listed via google local as servicing this town, but I think the the lack of the local address is keeping us down in position. We pop up #1 for our town.

thanks!

now back to processing flowers. Hedoubletoothpics week has begun :)

Get more customer reviews for your shop on google, so that when you are listed in the local 7 pack, you can stand out from the other florists listed. We get a lot of people who pick our shop because of our great review count.

I'm sure there are other things you can do too, but great customer reviews is a good start.

Anytime I get a customer who compliments us by phone, email or in our store, I always follow up, and ask them to kindly write a review online about our shop and I send them a link to make it easy for them.

If I understand correctly, you're looking to rank higher in the nearby town? Is it Caledonia, MI?

If so, you'll need to have a page or pages on your site targeting that area, and preferably get some links pointing those pages referencing "caledonia florist" or "flowers in Caledonia" etc.

Yes Caledonia. We are targeting that town due to that florist closing. So far our promotions to the local schools and biz has worked but now we need to get our web site ranked higher.

and since I have a strider site. how do I go about doing this??

thanks

also is there any way we can report to google about delisting the closed shop?

You need to build info pages on your strider site, similar to this page I have here, this is my main info page, with list of towns we cover, and I also added hidden info pages that link to that page, so if you click on any of the towns I have highlighted in blue text, it will take you to the hidden info page for that specific town.

it takes time to build these pages but its worth it in the long run. Build as many info pages as you can for all the surrounding towns.

I still need to make improvements on my infpo pages, which is on my list of things to do! Thx for reminder :)

But if you have a strider site, isn't that one of the things that you pay for?

Nope - the F20 package is for licensing the platform, hosting and support. SEO services are quoted at an additional price. We have some exciting new options in this area coming with V3, but that's all I can say about that for now :)
