I used them on the cake at my bridal shower and they lasted beautifully. Just make sure you leave them to soak in water as long as possible and they will be fine :)

Hmmm good question - it really depends on the quality of the gloriosa. We've done some work where it's lasted a good couple of days, but other times only half a day. If it's well conditioned and had a good drink you should be fine though.

It also looks lovely when combined with mango callas.

What else are you doing for the wedding fair? I'm doing one this weekend too and am excited about playing!

they have come vacum packed are you sure i should take them out i will need to do the bouquet sat night to go on show till 4pm sunday

In my experience yes take them out, they are put into airbags to avoid damage in transit - you'll need to cut the stems at an angle and put them in water with some flower food. Also don't leave them anywhere too cold, I think it's something like under 6 or 7 degrees that will cause the flowers to discolour.

They last a good 3 to 4 weeks in water.

i've seen on mark smiths photos some finger corsarges (ringlets) so gonna give that ago, i love doing fruit and flowers in bowls with chunky candles the flowers i've got are grandprix, aqua roses, skimmia, viburnum tinus, bush ivy and gloriosa, a simple calla vase arr in tall lily vase with test glass tubes on alliminium wire drangling off with gloriosa maybe also have got some fab sweetpeas maybe do a pomander as they are back in fashion and a white rose handtie with diamontis oooh can't wait

Ooooh test tubes, you've given me an idea now - thanks!!

if you have a look in the gallery i posted a photo of the tall vase/test tube arr it was a scottish theme and i put thistle and heather in the tubes the wedding guests loved it as most were scottish

i have to say i was really chuffed (very very happy for those who don't know what chuffed is) with the design would love to hear (see) your comments on this one its in the gallery under wedding fayre bouquets

thanks for all your input the flowers i reused in a contract arrangement only lost the three i wired for length on yesterday so they do last fantasically
