This goes out to mlou, Clay, Parie, Donna, Bruce, Brent, Phil and all of the FlowerChat Community members in the Lone Star State. Know that you are not alone in the pending storm, and that OUR Community is keeping you in our prayers, we can only pray and send good energy your way, but I know this is of utmost import.

May the Great Spirit impart wisdom on those in charge, may He send Eagles to carry those whom can not walk and may He hold you all in the palm of His hands and keep you out of harms way today, tomorrow and always...

Blessings.....Mark, my family and my staff...

May whatever higher power you hold dear, holds you and keeps you safe. Again, I have no words.

Thank you all...

From a true loyal texas and human. As we are in Amarillo, which most you probably don't know, is about 650 miles from the coast, we will probably not directly be dealing with a weather issue. But yes, our city is under emergency status, I didn't tell you guys this 2 weeks ago, but when Katrina hit, we had our "In the Pink" Luncheon for Breast Cancer, which is our largest floral/decor event we do every year scheduled. 4 days before the event, it was canceled by our Civic Center as it became a shelter for our neighbors from Louisiana. So we are now in the same boat with Rita.
I just want to send all prayers and faith to all of our family and friends in South TExas. My brother in law and family left Houston this morning, with as much as possible in their 2 vehicles and are heading for the Dallas area. We Texans appreciate the good energy sent our way!

I gotta say...no matter your political affliction, that the Govenor of Texas seems to be handling this in the right way...

I'm glad to see they learned some lessons based on the misfortune of those in NO LA....

Godspeed...

After a total of 6 hurricanes in the past months, I can tell you that they truly are "beasts". And the season is not over yet. All of you are in our prayers while we are still mopping up from Katrina, Rita and their nasty gang that came before them.......I think they are almost...yes almost as bad as the WS for your bottom lines...boarding up three times and then unpacking over and over is really a PIA but I do not think it begins to compare with all that the La' and Tx folks are having to do...prayers to all of you....pack up what is crucial to you and head north!

My thoughts

Well it’s not often that this happens to me, but I am truly lost for words. After seeing what happened with the last storm I just can’t imagine many more having to deal with similar suffering.

My thoughts are with you all!!

Texas Huricane Traffic

Well, they lifted the mandatory evacuation of Victoria Texas based on the new projection of Rita and taxing an already overloaded road system. We will now be on the "good" side of the hurricane (less wind, rain, tornados).

Unless you have family or friends to go to, there are no hotels available until you get El Paso, the Panhandle or above Dallas around OK....

I pray for everyone around the upper Texas coastline.....and now the Lousianna coastline.

Thanks for the prayers and phone calls.. I'm so tired of this storm and it hasn't hit yet...

Sher, your advise has been priceless and helped to keep me at the front of the long lines...Thanks alot!!!

think again...

I case some of you are wondering, it is 531 miles from Houston to Amarillo and 672 miles from Houston to El Paso.

Our thoughts and prayers are for all you in the paths of these storms. God bless and have mercy on you.

My heart has been crying for weeks for those in the path of these beasts. Our brushes with Katrina and Rita though inconvienient, have ben nothing compared with what folks are dealing with now. My prayers go out to all of you there. May He keep you in His care.

Thanks for good wishes

The good wishes are helping! We are located about 5 hours from Rita's point of breaking ground. As I write, we have evacuees in our home. One local church has been housing Katrina evacuees, now Rita evacuees are in another church. Despite panic on Thursday where the gas stations ran out of gas, and grocery stores didn't have bread, milk, or water - we have had some wind but not nearly as bad as expected and mostly just a lot of rain today.

Many thanks for the prayers and continued support of all those in paths of weather.

This is a good community, everyone should get a pat on the back!
