Hey all,

I've never, ever had a bride tell me to just go wild with centerpieces. I tend to get a lot of budget brides (I'm way out in the boonies), and have noticed people going really minimal with things.

Here's the thing. I just signed a sponsorship deal to provide florals and decoration for a HUGE charity event. The room is circular with vaulted ceilings and floor-ceiling windows around most of it. Gorgeous!

Anyway, because of the way I worked the deal, I can go as crazy with it as I want. I'm using it as an opportunity to try stuff I haven't had the opportunity to - such as eiffel towers. I haven't decided if I'm going for all whites, or a combination of hot pinks with purple and lavender accents.. but I have the basic shapes and ideas decided on.

I know how excited I was when I found the details of the deal, and when I saw the room, knowing I'd be running wild. I'm curious... if you were given a situation where you were *absolutely* in control of flowers, colors, design, etc.. what would you do?

Hi Wink!
How exciting!!!!!!
You Go!!!!!

Here is you chance to shine! you have started with the best place for excellent advise!!!

First I would think about the charity itself. Do they have a certain color scheme in their logo?
Is there going to be any kind of theme to the event?
If so you could work your magic around these.
Of course all white is very impressive too.
Best of luck and have fun!!!

Hehe whoops! I wasn't so much looking for advice, more like interesting convo. I know I have a fairly clear view of what my "go nuts" will be, was just curious what everyone else's was!

We get so limited in our designing... by price, color, others' preferences.. I've found that getting ready for this has been a lot of fun!

People around here always want prototypes before they get anything. I think our biggest event was a charity event. I don't know the proper term for what we did, but basically, there was an arrangement on the table and then a pole that held up another arrangement above it (is that what the eiffel towers are?) Anyways, we were still restricted to a price, but it was fairly high and all white flowers. I think there was like 30 arrangements plus they rented plants from us also, so we had to make several trips. Not exactly getting to go wild, but hey, it was pretty good.

we have found great inspirations, from those that tell us to "go wild", and limit us only to colour schemes, and perhaps a maximum budget!!
It's surprising to note, that when given the opportunity, some of your BEST WORK can come from unfettered expectations.
Go get 'em...save us some pics....
