:soapbox:We have been with FTD & Teleflora for 27 years. Back when it was a privilage to be associated with a wire service. They served me well and it was quite profitable for this business. Well NO MORE!!! Every month I pay them instead of the other way around, and I'm sick of it! Their outrageous charges seem to be for the same thing, just with a different name. DOUBLE_DIPPIN' SOB's! I've talked to several florist in the southeastern region, midwest, northeast and west coast. They all say the same thing, and if they ahaven't already ditched the wire they are seriously concidering it! I've made agreements with several florist to either use a credit card for their orders to and from me, or set them up with a house account and bill them monthly. Either way it's gonna save me boocoos of cash, instead of giving all the profits to the wire services. Hopefully more florist will join the revolution of independent florist and "cut the cord"!

Congratulations Millie!!!
We love being wire service free! Less stress all the way around.
Yes, they used to be a viable needed service, but in my opinion they are doing much more harm to our industry than good. I doubt you will ever regret your decision.

Cheers to you!:beer

Our bottom line has never been blacker than when we dropped Teleflora, then FTD! I've never regretted the decision.

Welcome to Flower Chat!

You go Millie, get yourself a c/c with atleast 5-10 thousand limit. This all depends on your out going volume per month. They have cards with flier miles(for your vacation cause you will save money now), cards that pay back a percentage of dollars spent, ect...... All sorts of perks. That card is only used for wire outs, ONLY. Easy to reconcile at the end of the month.

Congrats.

DITTO Millie and KUDOS to your decision!

Well Millie, having been there, did that too, I can only say KUDOS to you for making the right business decision for your shop at the right time.

We've all enjoyed and profited from the WS' partnership in the past and when they truly worked for US WEE BEES.

Sadly, that era is now long gone and what was once an asset has now become a liability for real florists.

The question I asked myself was: When was the last time they made MY CASH REGISTER RING with a 100% sale?

And my mind goes back to the 1980s when I bought and SOLD the Birthday Party Bouquets, the Big Hug Mugs, and the Get Well Bouquets in lots of 24s and 48s, most of them to MY CUSTOMERS at 100% and some of them to other REAL FLORISTS at 73% until Robert P rolled out the 800 FTO scam.

Far bee it from MEE to send my hard earned dollars to any company who will only turn around and use them to drive the customers with their 100% sales to their websitesrather than TO MY SHOP.

Why not take a look at www.myifa.org

The cost to you is only $20 per month and only when you send out your orders through them on any given month.

So far, it's been working out real well for us and our other two real florist friends who have terminated their relationships with both of the remaining WS'.

We do the 80%/20% split allowing for the usual 20% sending florist commission with 80% net to filler, far better than the 71% the wire services gave them.

On occasion, we do hit upon a (DUH) florist who states that, they will only fill orders at 100% for us. It's too funny sense it seems to be still OK to fill the WS' orders at 71%, ey?

Suffice it to say that, we just move on to another florist who both WANTS IT and GETS IT!
