Got this by email and yup I can see my koi pond in my back yard using just my phone number - I clicked and asked for removal - just cuz

Google has implemented a new feature which enables you to type a telephone number into the search bar and hit enter and you will be given the person's name and address. If you then hit Map you will get a map to the person's house.. Everyone should be aware of this! It's a nationwide reverse telephone book.

If a child gives out his/her phone number, someone can now look it up to
find out where he/she lives. The safety issues are obvious, and
alarming!!!

Note that you can have your phone number removed or blocked. I tried my number and it came up along with the mapquest and directions straight to our house. I did fill out the removal form for myself, and encourage all of you to do the same. Quite scary!

Please look up your own number!!!!!!!

In order to test whether your phone number is mapped, go to: Google
http://www.google.com Type your phone number in the search bar (i.e.
555-555-1212) and hit enter. If you want to BLOCK Google from divulging
your private information, simply click on your telephone number and then
click on the Removal Form. Removal takes 48-hours.

Check your own number and (although this may not apply to you if you
have an unlisted number or cell phone as primary contact).

You may know someone who needs to know this -that would have little
kids.

It takes Sex Offenders (or internet stalkers) right to your front door!!

Please share this information with friends and family

Thanks Bloomz, I came right up with no problem. Filled in the form to be removed as well. If someone wants to know where I live and has my phone number they can call and ask, then I'll tell them if I want them to know.

Can't believe Google has not thought of the horrific possible consequences of this.

I'll leave mine, it shows the neighbors across the street ;)

Reverse phone lookup is nothing new, really, and it's all publicly available info if you're listed in the phone book.

We've been using reverse lookup for years to deal with bad/incorrect addresses on deliveries.

Any worse than this?
<removed link to JB's very publicly accessible address & phone>

JB - did they get the age right? ;)

You never knew about this? Just like Ryan, I use this feature all the time to find the proper addresses for people :) I love it! It is the first method I use and then I move on to several other websites to track down people :)

Hey - like I said somebody sent me that by email - yes I knew it was easy but never bothered to see exactly how easy before.

No Ryan the age is way off - I'm 23. You knew that.

Now how about removing that link so my ass isn't out here on front street up in here as well?

Thank you.

Isn't the google thingy more "live", whereas the whitepages reverse map thingy is a satellite image? When we looked up our address with the satellite image, it was a dirt lot, with the building not even remodeled, circa 2000....
Now how about removing that link so my ass isn't out here on front street up in here as well?
Too late, I've already sent the fruitcake.
Merry Christmas!
